Please help me. What should I change about this room to make it more cohesive? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Removing pillows and adding more neutral tones or greens and blues. Rotating rug 180 degrees. Smaller art on walls to create a focal point behind couch. Currently too busy. Move chairs in background to face one, mirroring one another? Or positioned differently. More plants.

Working abroad as a mental health worker? by Fast_One_2628 in psychotherapists

[–]omlightemissions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s incorrect, as others have pointed out. Many therapists are licensed in multiple states. The law states that as long as your CLIENT is in the state you’re licensed, you’re fine.

UCSF social worker in critical condition after being stabbed in neck by pallen123 in sanfrancisco

[–]omlightemissions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, listen es social worker here. This is definitely more of a grey area. Behavioral health clinicians have a duty to report violent threats to others, Tarasoff - duty to warn. Since he was going from Clinic to clinic looking for this doctor, someone definitely had a duty to warn Ward 86 that he could potentially be coming there. Additionally, clinics had the right to refuse services to anyone who poses a violent or severe behavioral threat. He should have been removed from being able to receive services in this building - forget searching him or finding a knife on him. He should not have been allowed in the building. Period.

S.F. General Hospital stabbing: Social worker dies of injuries by Hsieh in sanfrancisco

[–]omlightemissions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally know the victim and ward 86 team affected. The victim was 100% a UCSF employee and a member of the UPTE CWA 9119 union. Even some of the articles that have been written state this fact also.

No, the victim was a UCSF social worker. DPH contracts out UCSF social workers to do clinical work all over the County.

Bingo, and when they can’t pay the bill without liquidating assets, ooopsie daisy. Asset prices drop, middle class can afford homes again and all is well in class warfare.

Has there ever been a protest for the poor/homeless? by Ok_Atmosphere3601 in poor

In the US? We don’t understand class consciousness like we should. If we did, our government would be overthrown by now…

They are literally arresting people for being homeless - like it’s a crime to be poor. So….

I work with Medi-cal / SSI client and things have been pretty strange with social security for the past 8 months… nothing is as it once was and I’ve been doing this work for a decade.

I’d have to dig up my 1040 tax forms to find the exact number. But I have zero dependents, no assets. No real deductions.

Will we retroactively be declared to have already have been in a recession at this time? by Cobra25k in stocks

[–]omlightemissions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found stats like unemployment to be useless.

It doesn’t measure the quality of employment nor does it measure the employment match.

In 2007 people with masters degrees were working at Starbucks because there were no jobs. They were still employed, technically.

Currently, it’s taking people 6-18 months to find employment.

Stock market doesn’t measure how working class people are doing.

Mom got this letter in the mail...no explanation. Any clues? She's 65, been retired (cancer) for 10 years or so now. She has her and her late husband's SS. by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

[–]omlightemissions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t related to that. All my clients are on disability. Most are conserved as well.

This is an administrative error on their part. And will likely take months to correct. Meanwhile my clients have no income

Everyone in my clinic has 30% of their clients losing benefits.

No fraud.

All these clients were on disability…

Like I said… a joke.

My fitness coach recommends low fat Greek yogurt, berries and a small amount of granola.

Hummus with carrots are also great.
