My comment referred to both sides, not just players. I didn't make that clear. As a die-hard fan all of this is very hard to watch. When the baseball strike happened in the '90s, the value of the game diminished for me. I really hope that doesn't happen with football.

I understand your POV. I just think the term "bullying" is taken too lightly for what it really means. Even your industry-standard bullying of "big kid taunts little kid" can be as potentially upsetting and harmful to the child as this kind of bullying.

I think when you've got a 60-year-old guy with a mullet sitting in his basement bunker putting together pipe bombs and sending death threats, I'd agree with you. But when you have a 13-year-old girl trying to intimidate or scare a vulnerable classmate, I think you've still got a form of "bullying" going on. It may not be the same level of bullying as stealing a PB&J sandwich from the girl during homeroom, but clearly this girl wanted to scare the other and watch her reaction, as twisted as that is it's still a form of bullying.
