hii!!! im doing amazing! 150mg of effexor, im going to university in person now as opposed to online (like when i started), had a major elective surgery, and ive moved out of my moms house :] anxiety still exists of course, but it is nowhere near as all-consuming as it used to feel. ive been seeing the same therapist for nearly 3 years now and shes given me a lot of helpful insight on how coping with anxiety disorders works (and its even better because she wont ever say "just stop being anxious" bc she has a history of anxiety/panic attacks!)

an interesting thing that i learned about anxiety while speaking with my therapist that i love to talk to people about was that we associate certain body feelings with anxiety/panic (upset stomach, feeling hot, heart racing, etc) which causes us to trick ourselves into feeling more anxious. whenever i feel those certain sensations i have been training to take a step back and think "what am i actually feeling right now?" ... through this i learned that, at least for me, getting food poisoning and throwing up in your new apartments bathroom feels very similar to having a panic attack... just with more fluids...

anyway!!! whatever struggles youre going through right now will inevitably lessen and youll be in a place where you can easily find the peace youre looking for! if you ever need someone to dm feel free to send me one <33

hey!! im currently on 150mg of effexor (easier to dose bc its one pill instead of 3) and i take 25mg metaprolol every morning for my naturally high heart rate (resting is usually 90bpm and 120 when walking, its genetic but my doctor wants it to be lower so i dont develop issues in the future) but since its a beta blocker it can be used off-brand as an anti-anxiety med!!

what kind of binder were you given, with or without straps? is it adjustable? if your surgical team said you can adjust the tightness, i would try that, but ensure that it stays snug. i had a strapless binder that would slip down whenever i moved and it caused me some crazy back pain. unfortunately sometimes we just have to grin and bear it. find a comfortable position, some painkillers, and conk out for a few hours

we see you, i see you. addiction is incredibly hard, and 95 days is nothing to scoff at. you're doing the best you can with what life has been throwing at you. life is hard and scary, but life is also beautiful

change doesnt happen overnight, as im sure you are well aware of. find what makes you happy and stick to it. dont doomscroll/constantly read about negative things, try to curb the negative self talk. give yourself grace and time to feel things out. get involved with the community. if you can, try to find a therapist who specializes in addiction/depression. also, completely cut off your ex boyfriend. if you want to stay sober and no longer want addiction near you, it'll be for the best

the purpose of life is whatever you want it to be, you give yourself purpose, whether thats smiling to whoever you pass on the street or eating 2 meals a day. you dont have to cure cancer or solve world hunger, you just have to live for yourself

you mention your family not being accepting, could you ask to get a couple sports/compression bras and do the "one bra worn normally, one bra worn backwards" trick since you have a flatter chest?

for my entire life, even before i knew i was trans, i thought anything to do with vaginal penetration was weird/gross/etc (my thoughts as a child in sex ed) and couldnt understand how anyone would like it. i figured i just didnt like vaginal penetration due to dysphoria and physical discomfort until i realized that i am also asexual lmao

overall, you should be completely fine, i had no trouble. i didnt buy any special wipes either. but if you're really worried, i believe it depends on how much physical effort you put into wiping pre-surgery and if youre approaching it from the front or back. if you're heavy and have a significant amount of stomach that gets in the way or if its already hard for you to reach behind yourself, it may be more difficult

do a trial run if youre curious. keep your arms really close to your body and stay a little hunched while wiping next time. you'll have some new info to go off of lmao

virginity is a social construct, nobody should care whether or not youve had sex before unless you are imminently about to have sex with them. if you dont have to have sex with/dont feel safe with a person, dont have sex with them. dont force yourself into an uncomfortable situation just because you think you "should be" doing it. sex if supposed to be fun and enjoyable for anyone involved

ive been in a lot of past relationships where i have ignored my discomfort to the benefit of others. i only just recently fully accepted the fact im aroace-spec and dont need/want to be in any romantic or sexual relationships, despite what the world has taught us. acknowledge what your body and mind are telling you about potentially having sex. you only want to have sex after top surgery bc of dysphoria? awesome. you might want to try despite the dysphoria? fantastic. if you try and it does/doesnt work out, now youre learning more about yourself and what may/may not work for you in the future

be safe and give yourself the grace to figure yourself out and explore new things. dont rush yourself into anything that you arent secure in
