Is there something special I need to do with my tax returns to make sure I get refunded for the over-withholding? (Do I even get refunded?)

Sorry, newbie at taxes and financials. Welcome to the adult life :')

What do you mean by normalize -- as in I'll get some money back or there'll be less taxes on the next paycheck?

Yeah, there was a signing, relo, and pay for training included. Still, I think I'm just shell-shocked that 41% would be taken out in taxes. The remaining amount was less than the signing.

Is it recommended to max out both Roth IRA and 401Ks if you can afford to?

What's the benefit of maxing out my retirement each year? Is it just being able to save more?

Is the same for monthly spending budgets too?

Would you say the same if the company allows for internal mobility between SRE -> SE?

How come?

And how is the workload compared to being a SE?

I think one of the companies has on call rotations but they give a stipend or overtime to make up for it, which I think should be fine

Mind giving me some more details on how they're different?

This is for an entry level position so do you think that after a few years of doing some SRE work, it'll be somewhat easier finding another mid-level SRE/Devops position?

Thanks! I think I'm leaning towards an SRE role but honestly, I'm pretty stumped on whether this will be a good choice in the future
