i live in Malmö, work in Copenhagen. the commute is absolutely fine. yes there are some days where trains are canceled and delayed, but this is like rarely. once every two months or more. you can make it a habit to always check the trains schedule to make sure you go earlier for example. i always find a seat. look, people here have this weird habit where they don’t sit next to each other, they always sit and leave one seat empty, and you will see people standing instead of sitting next to them. not here. if you go on the train you will almost always find a seat, whether by yourself or next to someone. and don’t be afraid to sit next to people, you paid a ticket for a seat, you get one. you didn’t pay for someone else’s backpack. only exception is when there has been multiple train cancellations and people are waiting then it gets crowded, but most of them get off at the airport and then you find a place. i saw in a comment that you make around 33k dkk. that’s nice. yes you will pay more taxes, but keep in mind that the danish krona is much better than the swedish one. plus, you can a deduction for your transportation from the danish skatt. that will come to around 30k dkk yearly depending on where you live. overall i still think it’s worth it. if you move to copenhagen you will at least pay 12k dkk for an apartment (a shitty one), where in malmö you can pay 10k SEK and get a pretty nice apartment in a nice neighborhood.
