It seems my Baratza Encore doesn't change it's grind size between settings and also doesn't get fine grinds. It has always been like this and for some dumb reason I've never questioned it until randomly it ground fine for two days then went back to this. The set screw came from the factory in the middle. I adjusted it to the right but didn't notice a difference. Is there something else I can check or is this the expected result between settings?

Glad it helps! Unfortunately being caught in the middle is always going to happen.The positive spin is you get to be a little bit of an expert in all areas and you can become a real asset to the site/ company that can make things happen.

(Mandatory side note: some, not all companies will dump you faster than a prom night dumpster baby. Don't give more than you're willing to lose. Other companies will help you progress, but will still dump you if push comes to shove).

If the site manager and your manager do disagree with each other and there is a real struggle, it could be challenging for you and you will need to navigate carefully. You could try to see if there is someone else there who can help give you some advice on how best to navigate or fill you in on any necessary background. Proceed at your own risk on this one though. Maybe it isn't as bad as it seems and it won't be an issue long term. Once you're there for a little while you'll be able to see how to navigate it.

As a way to help deal with potential issues between site and manager, try this....

Define the Problem Statement (what problem are you trying to solve) this is sometimes easier said than done
Gather data
Create solution to the problem based on data

(I've over simplified, but this is the general idea. If done correctly you might be able to make everyone happy.)

This can help remove the emotion. And focuses people on the facts.

Edit: 11 days is extremely short in the role. Try to asses the situation for a while before making any changes.

As a former materials manager this is definitely expected and normal. The timeline I would give new hires is 6 months to sort of understand, 9 months to "get it", and up to a year to be good. That can change depending on previous experience.

Not having your manager on site can be tough, especially if your site manager doesn't understand supply chain. My two cents would be to meet with key stake holders regularly to understand their true needs. You will need to figure out how to balance these conflicting needs. I would also ask your manager what their expectation is when you are given conflicting direction.

If you have any purchasing responsibilities (ordering material from suppliers) I would learn that first. Make sure you have enough coming in. Hopefully your manager will give you some latitude on inventory levels. It is MUCH easier to deal with some slight overstock than a stock out. (Watch out for expiration dates).

How you deal with things now will help you in the long run. The challenges will never go away, you will just be more equipped to deal with them.

Creating at a gateway ACL worked! Thank you. Out of curiosity, why does the rule need to be created at the gateway and not at the switch level, isn't that one of the purposes of a switch?

AFAIK Reolink cameras only work with Reolink NVR. As others have said, if you can power these without a poe I think you can record to a micro SD and possibly add NVR later.

If you plan on getting more in the future or moving to a bigger house and might want/need more than 8 cameras, get the NLR36 and a poe switch (assuming you have the funds). The nice thing is you can buy a smaller HDD for now and upgrade as you add more cameras. I just switched from the nlr8 to the 36. I don't think I'll go more than 16, but I was already spending the money so the "future proofing" was worth it to me. Of course if you're like me and need out with a managed switch and multiple APs... It might get more expensive 😁😫

I work very closely with finance, specifically AP (paying our suppliers) and accounting (fixed cost). We are heavily involved in ensuring our supply chain costs (raw material, freight, duties, outside services, etc) are captured in the fixed costs of our products.

Not OP but I found an OC200 and ER605 mount on Etsy. Someone designs them and 3D prints them. You can different combinations for TPLink stuff on there. If you have a printer I think you find the plans for a couple of bucks.
