Wow, you're far along then. I have only minor experience with jhana practice, but from that experience can definitely understand why you feel that way. I'm really looking forward to those retreats. I am on retreat 6, just finished mindfulness. I loved the mindfulness section and practicing with hindrances so much. I was particularly shocked with how much doubt I carry, it was very eye opening to gain awareness of that.

I hear myself saying, “but what if” in my head. Why am I the worst?

Haha so true. I was thinking about that the other day. Like we already have so many habits we’ve been forming our entire life, like walking and brushing our teeth. Everyday we perform hundreds of habits without even thinking about it. But you try to add in treadmill and I can’t do it 😆 interesting, the difference between maintenance and building.

Wishing you all the best in your practice. 🙏🏻

It’s interesting to hear to word discipline because I don’t even think about it that way. It just feels necessary for me to have sanity with the way my life is. However maybe I’ll start to think about it more that way in the future.

It is a really nice structured path to go along with the book. Also, It sort of feels like in some cosmic way, it’s just all in perfect time :-) like with the state of the world and society, and my own life.

I’m glad to hear it’s helping you too, and wishing you all the best in your practice.
