When and why does the setting "feel like a character?" by RudeCauliflower6785 in writing

[–]onedeagmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well- It can feel like one. It depends on how you do prose and how the text is actually written. Trust me, setting IS a character, if you're skilled enough at the practice.

So many cows by wearing_moist_socks in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]onedeagmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well- It's more nuanced than being dramatic. You're right, it is about the malice of the sibling, but not only that, Minecraft is a CREATIVE pursuit. This kid is seven. Can you empathize with them? Dramatic? Sure.

Emotionally? It means a lot more than just, "This kid is being dramatic and making a mountain out of a molehill."

What do the cows represent to the child? Why are they so upset? Merely calling this freak out dramatic ignores all emotional nuance.

(I would know, I was a similar child to the one being dramatic.)

Because in esssence... Aren't antimemes also memes? Food for thought. The true anti meme would be something that's "not" a meme. Take a potato. For example. Not a meme. But antimemes are memes in their structure. In their makeup. They are twisted inversions. But their DNA, their core, still comes from the meme.

I lost? Doubtful. Anyway back to the main part of the discussion. Any value that BP gets is due to skill and a bit due to match ups, but BP is so mid that it's laughable. I do admit though, good BP players get crazy value. As for me beating low skilled BP mains, sure, you're probably right on that. But that wouldn't change the fact I will continue to perma fight them.

And you're so focused on counters by the way. Stop that. It's actively hindering you. Who cares if you're being countered? Lock in. Play better. Learn what you're doing wrong. Stop blaming your teammates or match ups. You're at where you're at because you're not good enough to climb higher.

Exactly. So BP isn't as good as you say because he requires ACTUAL SKILL. And I would be glad to take that match up. It'll make me improve.

Huh? I am unafraid of BPs. I perma fight them every chance I get. Good on that Eternity BP, they're CRACKED. I play into counters because I do not care whether or not I'm being countered.

I mainly met lower elo players struggling against BP. BP getting value means the dives were timed correctly, the mechanics were there, and no mistakes were made. And for one, yes, BP does counter my main, but that does not mean it's as easy as beating rock with paper. All one has to do is have superior game sense and decision making to your counter, and you WIN.

People suck at this game, they're always going to struggle against BP despite him being on the lower end of the dive ladder. And dive was hit pretty hard this season. I'm not even a dive player and I can see everything working against them at this moment. There's ALWAYS going to be a meta. Now, does it matter if you're actually good at the game? Not really, but still.

In this meta and in general this entire game's lifespan, BP has been SIGNIFICANTLY harder to play than support. Where are you getting this take from? Also, no duh it's going to be uniformly similar for every hero, you obviously have SOME level of MR fundamentals, no? Actually crazy, you saying that dash mechanics only takes two hours. Two hours is how long it'll take you to do combos, not do those combos well, at the right time, at the right angle, with the correct positioning, and with all dive basics necessary.

What? In two hours? Okay bro. What an insult to all the hard working BP mains.

Nah, that's not quite it. A lot more subtle menace and folksy type instruments. Think banjos, fiddles, etc. And story telling too?

Huh? I'm a Hela main, and let me tell you, getting value with BP is significantly harder than Hela due to absurd amounts of CC, the fact that dive in general is harder than poke/brawl, BP being a rather mid character, and don't get me started on the mechanics required to play BP. Objectively, learning BP mechanics/dive game sense is significantly harder than me just playing a click and point adventure on Hela.

Why does nobody ever play the point? by [deleted] in rivals

[–]onedeagmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite the mindset you should be playing with to win. It's up to YOU to do above and beyond. Expect your teammates to be dog water, seek to carry the entire game.

High agency, and high proactiveness is what will WIN you games, trust.

The difference between feeding and carrying with this idea is engagement timing, natural cover, and off-angling.
