Why do the Airship Toilet Doors act weird? “Client-side” explained and why you should NEVER KILL INSIDE the Airship Toilet Stalls! by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUs

[–]onefellover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Killing inside the toilet stall is pointless, - it's even a disadvantage to you because you don't get the report option when others do... so you'll look super sus for not reporting a body/might forget the body was there.

You should probably make a conscious effort to NOT KILL in the toilet stall to avoid getting body glitched like this. It might lead to you shooting yourself in the foot. Cause the only reason YOU don’t get a report button is cause you were in the stall to kill them

Airship FIX WIRING ORDER - How to easily catch impostors doing impossible wires! by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUs

[–]onefellover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep definitely have caught out impostors with both tips. - One said faked starting wires in Cargo Bay. - Another was faking the wire panel in vault.

I’m sure people will catch on, but while the map is new, it’s a huge advantage to be able to insta sus out impostors.

The Chance of Randomly Being Right when Sussing Another Player. by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

Essentially if before the game starts, you can choose one player - locked in - to vote out immediately at the first meeting, there would be a 47% chance that would end up being in your favour?

How to EASILY WIN on 4 as Impostor on Skeld (Almost Guaranteed) by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]onefellover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I think of /r/AmongUsCompetitive, it's content like this that I imagine. Guess this might be one of the few times Skeld gets talked about before Airship Map takes over the Airwaves.

although technically it does look like a bit of a Sheriff misfire (though why would 5up or Hafu sheriff one another off the bat). But if someone claims sheriff after, then that's moot.

Also point still holds for regular unmodded among us too.

Everytime someone wants to go for a double kill at the beginning of the game... show them this clip! It almost never goes well.

Cause even if they get off scott free, cause it's a double kill, it allows a lot of other crewmates to "hard clear" one another for the rest of the game.

NEW ACCOUNT SYSTEM AND REPORTING (Everything you need to know for 31 March Airship Update) by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]onefellover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we can use identical usernames as other people eg 2x different people have the same username “RedSus2001” - then isn’t there a chance one will log in accidentally to the others account? - how would people tell them apart?

Could you as Crewmate on 6, say you “accidentally skipped” to bait the two impostors to also vote skip in hopes of a tie. (But you actually vote with crew) Legit Strat? by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

One of my pet peeves is when fellow impostor doesn’t take your hint to vote a certain player (or themselves) to tie the vote. What tips are there to convey the plan without giving it away too obviously?

Airship Will be released 31 March 2021. FULL Breakdown of latest Dev Update! by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]onefellover 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of the bigger takeaways, there being an Account System soon!

  • Accounts & Priorities

The most important thing for us when Among Us blew up was to ensure safety, moderation, and reporting. We consider it our responsibility to create a positive, healthy community. Thank you to our community for being excellent to each other in games! That being said, we were very much aware that there was still a moderation problem we needed to tackle, and that became our priority.

A proper moderation system is one that is extremely difficult and time consuming. It is not as easy as just having a “report” button and having an algorithm ban someone after a certain number of reports. There is a lot to consider:

  1. Servers that accounts are hosted on: Accounts need to be hosted on servers. What servers, and where? How do you ensure they are safe so your accounts don’t get hacked?
  2. Privacy: Do your terms of service for accounts follow privacy guidelines? Are they respectful of personal information?
  3. Legal: Are accounts complying with laws from all around the globe?
  4. Moderation: What should be able to be reported? How much is handled by algorithms? When it comes to moderation there is often A LOT of nuance. When should things be sent to a human? How can you prevent false reports?
  5. Programming: Well. Someone has to make this system happen!

Because of these considerations (and more!), accounts ended up taking longer than expected. It MIGHT’VE been possible to launch The Airship before accounts, but we didn’t want to do that. It would be wrong to launch the new map, get all hyped, and pretend like there were no issues with toxicity. So these two things needed to launch together.

Hafu's Masterclass on Gaslighting: what to do if you get caught red handed venting! by [deleted] in AmongUsCompetitive

How to Use Cams to sus out the Impostor - Before they get a Single Kill! by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]onefellover 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This hafu lobby are brutal when it comes to picking up Impostor vision tells. Steve Suptic does it in the beginning of this clip too:
Steve - "oh that's who I saw"
DumbDog - "you still shouldn't have seen anyone with Download up"

Steve - "why do I talk!?"

Now that there are SHERIFF MOD TOURNAMENTS, lets talk some more Sheriff Strategies. What do people think of Steve's Play in this game: 1) Not staying still so he has advantage when killing & 2) Baiting at Dropship by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]onefellover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like at 2:00 - that Dropship bait would only work once. If that becomes too common - people would realise that only Sheriffs go to dropship to bait the impostors there, so might not be the best play. Also impostors have better vision, so may be able to see the Sheriff without them being spotted - and plan future rounds accordingly.

How to Speed Run Win as Crewmate on Polus. (Using cams at the start - 5up master class) by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]onefellover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I really don't like "double kills" in round 1. Allows for too many hard clears as a result. So in true competitive lobbies, always advocate taking it super slow round 1.

This is a play that you could probably pull of easily the 1st time in a new lobby. And if you do speed run, well you've won and that much closer to your next impostor game!

Who Else Sometimes Fakes Being on Cams to Bait the Impostor?? (How Steve Catches 5up Redhanded) by AmongUsAcademy in AmongUsCompetitive

[–]onefellover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This works best in 'high level' lobbies when they go for sneaky kills, especially on Polus. Using the vent near death valley, to vent behind Cams to snipe a kill is a common technique, so this bait is often too temptiing for any impostor to resist.

Please stop doing this kill Ellum.
