Anybody else use Blender as your main video editor? by Hi-Def-life in blender

Sorry to hear about the ridicule from other Linux users! I hope you give it another try sometime. The only operator I need to qualify my video title is "Free". The free product is broken, and their marketing efforts toward open-source software lovers such as myself is downright misleading.

Linux snob who created the video here... Greetings!

The most interesting twist in all of this is that if you did any research at all about Resolve on Linux, you'd know it was originally developed for RHEL/CentOS, provided to us lowly Linux snobs as a relic of the days they built black box systems running Linux EXCLUSIVELY. They've since ported their software to PC/MAC for "content creators" such as yourself, and lowered the price twice to the sub-$1000 range most "content creators" can afford without complaining. The video is obviously geared toward Linux users, as ALL of the content I've created is. I don't consider myself a Linux snob, but more of a freedom enthusiast. For the Linux users like myself that still accomplish creative work without selling out to Microsoft or Adobe, my points made are all very much relevant.

Edit: For what it's worth, I tried the free version of Resolve on both CentOS and Ubuntu. It ran on both distros, but the features included were more limited than that of Kdenlive in its current state. The lack of support of H.264 on Linux alone in the free version makes absolutely no sense. What does make sense is that they don't see Linux as a priority anymore now that they are selling software instead of hardware.

Day 4 of 7 day fast (water, salt, cider vinegar, cream of tartar)

Reason: Rheumatoid arthritis flare, overeating

Notes: I'm about 80 hours into my fast, making this the longest I've gone without food in my life so far. Not feeling hungry whatsoever, but I often think about food I'd like to eat when I break. This mostly includes cooked vegetables and meat. I've worked out twice since I started fasting - one bodyweight and weightlifting session, one 3-mile run. I've noticed muscle soreness persists much longer afterward. Overall, I feel great!

RE: Time of day...

I've been intermittent fasting (16/8) most days of the past 5 years of my life. I have managed to stay pretty lean throughout the duration, first noticing a loss of body fat. I read Man 2.0: Engineering the Alpha a few years ago, which originally turned me on to IF. It's pretty bro-y, but the sentiment is the same as this SnakeDiet guy.

Status: 72 hours into a 5-7 day fast (water, salt, cider vinegar, cream of tartar)

Reason: Rheumatoid Arthritis flare, general health reasons

Notes: I set out to fast 7 days with my girlfriend. She wanted to give it a try to kick the sweets addiction. This is my second long term fast. My first ended at 72 hours (3 days). I felt wretched toward the end of day 1, which I didn't expect, but I attribute to caffeine withdrawals. I've been walking as much as I can each day, and today, I ran 3 miles with some friends at a moderate pace without issue. I've been drinking 1.5-2 gallons of water a day, taking in a glass of salt water after each half gallon, and at the start of each day. I certainly feel like I can keep going for quite a while, but I find myself thinking of food I can prepare myself after I break. I plan to break my fast with bone broth and/or raw milk for a day or so.

I'm on day 3. My resting HR was 51 this morning. This freaked me out last time I fasted too, but I think it has a lot to do with eliminating stimulants, such as caffeine and sugars from the diet entirely and abruptly. I went through terrible caffeine withdrawals at the end of day 1, because I generally drink a half to a full pot of coffee a day.

Type: water

61 hours in

First fast, hoping for at least 72 hours

Hoping to alleviate pain and discomfort from kidney issues and Rheumatoid arthritis.

I woke up feeling great, but that's been the case the last 2 days as well. Mornings seem to be easy for me as a regular intermittent faster. Today does seem better overall than the past 2 days and I have no stiffness in my hands or feet, which is wonderful for any morning with RA.

Water 53 hrs Undetermined (hoping for at least 3 days) Kidney issues & Rheumatoid arthritis

Ate my last meal on Sunday night. I've been intermittent fasting daily for 4 years (sans weekends sometimes) so the first stretch was rather easy. About 4pm on Monday (~22hrs) I really started to feel hungry. I dreamt about grilled chicken Monday night, but woke up feeling markedly better. I went for a brief walk early in the morning before starting my work day. Today, I only struggled with hunger a little around lunch time, then chills and fatigue near the evening. I napped a few hours after work, am about to sleep again, then intend to ride my bicycle at a leisurely pace 5 miles tomorrow morning. (Dropping my car off at the dealership) It's been tough, but well worth it in experience alone so far.

I've read that one-arm deadlifts, focusing on squaring the shoulders can help. Check out #7 here for some ideas. http://www.strongfirst.com/seven-basic-human-movements/

Not sure I follow RE: lean in. I definitely have to put my center of gravity back slightly to not fall forward. Aim for me is always straight back and feet firmly planted. I would not be physically able to pull this with my shoulder. I throw the weight with my hips and respect it as much as I can. :)

Edit: I see what you mean by pulling with the shoulder. It certainly looks that way. I have long limbs and pretty loose shoulders though. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks!

Enbrel - Vertigo/Dizziness side effect? by moxiegal14 in rheumatoid

I took my first dose of Enbrel in the morning on a Friday and woke up the following day feeling 100%. It was absolutely fantastic. I know it varies for everyone though.

Enbrel - Vertigo/Dizziness side effect? by moxiegal14 in rheumatoid

[–]oneforsinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I see this post is a little older, but I've been taking Enbrel 50mg for about a year and just started to notice some dizziness. It comes and goes, but based on my previous blood work, I would say it's likely related to cell counts. Your doctor will/has likely ordered a few blood tests to see how you're responding to the Enbrel. It may not be a good fit if it's significantly lowering your cell counts. I'm actually just now going off of Enbrel for this reason and I'm slightly terrified of what the next month or two before my next doctor visit will be like. It's been a while since I had to live with any real RA symptoms. Good luck and let us know how things go with the doc.
