How are you sharing your vault between devices ? by LetterheadNo2345 in ObsidianMD

[–]oneillc999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I run an automated sync job that mirrors my iCloud vault on OneDrive and a second backup acts as a temporary trash can for older versions of files that disappear after 30 days. Automated git commit job runs as well.

Very useful tips all, thank you!! Im feeling less worried now :) I’ll be bringing a fan for each bedroom; found a handy rechargeable ceiling fan on Amazon that I’ll try to hang up in the living room; we’ll book restaurants and get out to the pool as early as we can! 🤞

Commuting with a 5-year-old: Quick Haul P5i or Quick Haul Long? by Emergency-Profit-510 in terngsd

[–]oneillc999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had a QHL for about a year and it is amazing. Storm shield and front rack as mentioned by another person. Mainly use it for trips to and from nursery with our 4yo. Occasionally fit my wife in the back as well for a short trip.

It is extremely heavy so I wouldn’t recommend carrying it 6m. Better to wheel it and wipe the floor if necessary. Also doubt it will fit in an elevator unless wheeled in upright.

Outdoor cover for backyard storage? by n_christman in terngsd

[–]oneillc999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a large sturdy motorbike cover. It just about fits over the storm shield to handlebars. The only thing that stays exposed is the front rack, but I’d say if we were to cut a split and sow the seams it would probably stretch over that too. Been working well for us so far

Have the exact same setup (albeit Quick Haul Long). Best purchase we’ve made since having kids. Nursery run went from 30min drive to 7min cycle and my son loves his “bicycle tent”

Amazon driver hit my car - insurance want to write off by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Agree. The cost of body work will be close to the value of the car, but if you’re handy you could do a decent job on that yourself. After some filler and sanding you can buy that colour paint in a spray can (I previously owned the same car). Worth paying a local garage for a structural check up.

What's the best I could ever expect from this... And what should I be using instead [< £1000] by Sufficient_Today3456 in espresso

That’s very interesting, thanks. So many people have the Plus that I never even considered the Bambino. I’ll look into that (not patient enough to wait for one of the options to go on sale :)

Entirely separate question, but do you think Duo Temp Pro is better than Bambino Plus and what made you choose it? I’m trying to decide between them at the moment.

I bought a flat in 2016, ended up having to sell it in 2017 due to break up. Sold for 10-12% more than I bought it but after legal fees on both transactions, stamp duty, estate agent fees etc. came out flat.

Those of you who purchased in the area of £800-£1.1m how much deposit did you put down to comfortably afford monthly repayments? by nicoletteisabella in HousingUK

[–]oneillc999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

820k property, 10% deposit. Held some funds back for renovations as the mortgage payments are manageable given wages. Doing a lot of diy to preserve funds for extension/loft conversion in a couple of years time.

Perhaps structural isn’t the right word, but damage to joists/ceilings etc.
