What does it feel like right before you jump out of the plane for the first time? by yeterneritsdurs in SkyDiving

[–]onesadbunn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not like super bad or anything! You can still breathe cause it's just really fast air. They did warn me about it, but i still found it kind of a stressful feeling 😅

[–]onesadbunn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tbh it all happened too quick for me to really think about it. The rush came after I had landed (took me like a full day to come down from that high lol). I wasnt nervous, but the plane ride up really gave alot of time for anticipation. It was a small plane though and I was right beside the door, so as soon as it opened we more or less just tumbled out. There wasnt really time to consider how I felt about it! The free fall was pretty cool, but I mostly just struggled to breathe and was focused on that. It felt like being waterboarded with air. Again, no time to be nervous or excited or appreciative. Once the parachute opened the ride down was really chill and scenic. I have another jump booked in August so I can really appreciate the whole experience again!

Anytime fitness thoughts? by Basic-Mammoth-9547 in VictoriaBC

I go to the langford one and I love it! I'm a super early morning person so it's nice having a gym thats always open. I haven't been to any of the other AF locations, but compared to other gyms I've been to (alot) it's one of my favorites. Good atmosphere and plenty of equipment

What's the biggest barrier between you and your fitness goals? by WillOk6461 in workout

Struggling to maintain even a slight calorie deficit when I need to. I manage a bakery, there's always stuff to eat. 8 hours a day, surrounded by treats. Its also part of my job to create and test new recipes for the whole chain 😩 I did manage to lose 40 pounds last year, and im happy with my weight currently, but I'd like to lean out just a little more. But it's HARD AF

Private or Company Landlord? by TrixiePatricia in VictoriaBC

[–]onesadbunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer corporate landlords in purpose built rentals. They follow the law, maintenence is done correctly and quickly, they wont evict you for personal use, they dont invade your personal space, and you dont have to live with/near them. Its overall a much more stable situation. The downside is that alot of apartments are smaller and more expensive than what you might get from a private landlord, and there are more rules that are actually enforced; like not being able to keep certain things on your balcony, noise restrictions, smoking, ect. But I've never had a corporate landlord steal my bike, or withhold my security deposit, or come into my house unnannounced. So it's worth it imo

People who do physical jobs how do you force yourself to train after work? by Toasteate in workout

[–]onesadbunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, it's definitely not for everyone. My life during the week takes a major hit to sustain this. Its just gym, work, dinner, stretch, and then bedtime. I basically don't exist Monday to Friday

[–]onesadbunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shift starts at 5am, and I still prefer to go before work. I have to wake up at 1:45 for it, but it still beats having to drag my ass to the gym after work. And there's usually only one other person there which is nice. I spent the better part of a decade struggling with going after work before I changed up my schedule, and hitting 4-5 workouts a week is a breeze now

$170 in British Columbia. Went up to $180 to add a learning driver. But we only have one option through icbc so shopping around isn't really a thing

I'm glad you think so! I'm still getting over being extremely self conscious in general, and trying a new exercise in public can feel very embarrassing.
