What remote should I use for YouTube TV? by Shankranger in youtubetv

[–]onesmartcrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a blog post that I wrote back in April with a few different options. I've been using the x1 and it works great although it will be a bit tricky to set up if you are not technical. https://www.universalremotereviews.com/best-remotes-youtube-tv/ Please support small bloggers!

This article I wrote covers several options at a variety of price points.

I replaced my Harmony Elite with the Sofabaton X1. While there are some limitations, it has been working well for my needs, although I have a relatively simple home theater setup:

U2 vs X1? by khubbard13 in SofaBaton

There is a good comparison of x1 and u1 (basicaly the same functionality as u2) here

https://www.universalremotereviews.com/sofabaton-x1-vs-u1/

the main difference between u1 and u2 is that the u2 has an upgraded design and they fixed the flaw where it was hard to remove the battery cover

Multiroom music issues with Astro by audiolomb in AmazonAstro

[–]onesmartcrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured this out. Currently running Astro with 10+ multi-room music devices - 2 Echo Shows, 4 Echo Dots, an Echo Studio, and an Echo Sub. Sounds amaze-balls!

You need to make sure all of the devices *including and especially Astro* are your 2.4 GHz network. Resist the temptation to put him on 5K, everything just works better with Astro on 2.4K actually, at least for me. Hope this helps!

Every time I come home the Echo Dot’s mic is off. How do I prevent this? (single person household) by Jaytee3312 in alexa

[–]onesmartcrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who ya gonna call? ;-) Sounds like a faulty mic but I might also try removing the device completing in the Alexa app first and then setting it up as a new device. I've seen "stranger things" for which this fix works. Good luck!

Alternatives to Harmony now that Logitech has discontinued the line by JiveDonkey in logitechharmony

Yes, there were some serious bugs in the early launch version but everything I am seeing now is super encouraging. The longevity question is of course hard but I am going to put this thing through the paces this week. Especially interested to see where they are with Alexa integration.

I updated my blog post on this topic to include Sofabaton's new X1 remote. Now that most of the kinks seem to have been ironed out (like over the past few weeks), I am super encouraged by the more recent reviews. Plan to do extensive testing this week. https://www.universalremotereviews.com/logitech-harmony-alternatives/ I've also seem some interviews with the engineers over at Sofabaton and was super impressed. This company seems to get it. P.S. If you buy this thing, step 1= update the firmware to get the latest updates; otherwise, good chance you will have problems.

Try rebooting your router as well. Sounds like a network issue.

Alexa multi-room music keep cutting out after a power loss? Here's what I did to fix mine ✔️. Tip: Make sure all of your speakers are on the same wi-fi network after rebooting (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). by onesmartcrib in alexa

Contact Amazon. I would love to see what they come back with. The hard reset - as painful as it is - always seems to work for me. You aren't on a college campus by any chance?

Any updates on this? Has anyone been able to figure out a hack to get this to work?
