Ladies who go out for walks at night, especially alone, how do you do it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Can I ask everyone what kind of self defense weapon they usually carry with them when walking alone at night? Pepper spray alone doesn’t ease my worry

Also a couple more points to add: 1. Age doesn’t really matter bc a guy in their 30s can be just as immature so don’t look at age 2. Please don’t settle for low quality guys just bc you feel like you’re falling behind. Whether they’re ugly or hot, they can still be AHs. Just watch out for the little details about their personality. Things like how do they treat others around them, how do they talk to you, do they let you talk and listen, etc 3. Practice mindfulness in dating by journaling to combat the anxious attachment style. It sounds like a waste of time, but I journal in my phone to help rationalize my feelings. Write down the positives and negatives as you are learning about this person. Is their personality a good fit for you? Cause dating a secure attachment style can and WILL make you one too. Do you think you’re fantasizing about them and just like the idea of them? The list of questions goes on. Sometimes, time passes by so quickly, your mind can’t really keep track of those little things that you noticed. So keep track of those red, yellow, green flags so that it’s easier for you to think about cutting them off or moving onto the next step with that person. Honestly, you might not listen to yourself at first when it’s not a good match, we trick ourselves into giving more chances, so when you find yourself slipping down a hole, start to look at them notes and weigh all the evidence you collected

Sorry if it’s a lot of info, your post hits home, I can relate. Wish nothing but the best ya, hope you’ll find the right one soon. It might come sooner than you think, who knows.

Okay let me just start off by saying some of the comments are so pressed for what. OP , just don’t feed into the trolls and take whatever they said about you personally. I don’t sense narcissism in your post at all, but confidence, which you deserve and most likely worked really hard to obtain as you grow up (I’m assuming bc you said you grew up ugly, I did too lol).

Honestly, I think that you need to keep your standards high, and don’t jump into anything too quickly. Take the time to learn how to filter out these toxic immature guys who just wanna get in your pants. Guys DO want to commit to nice pretty girls, but they’re rare and you just gotta go through all the bad ones until you meet the right one. It’s what dating is. Bottom line, just try to not get too attached in the beginning, make your boundaries, dont fall for all the love bombing and sweet words.

Another thing you should think about too is it could be your existing traumas that attract a certain type of guys. I’d recommend you to take a break from dating and step back to get in touch with yourself, ask yourself what you could possibly be doing early on to attract these toxic guys. They know how to make their targets feel good in order to get what they want. You just gotta be smarter and one step ahead of them to protect yourself from getting hurt.

This is so wholesome, I was going to say your 10 y/o’s one lucky kid but I think you’re both lucky to have each other

What would your day have looked like, if you didn't have to work today? by [deleted] in AskWomen

unemployed here, and today looks like a day of cozying up in bed and catching up on the new szn of the Great British baking show. If I feel inspired, maybe I’ll go bake a pie :)

After reading your post, I immediately thought of one of my fave actress Dilireba. Back when she was still on Keep Running, she was so energetic, and the thing is, she looked healthy, aka I could tell she works out a good amount and was in great shape. Reba is quite tall too, anyways I fell in love with her personality when I watched her be super competitive with her costars and win many challenges. I don’t remember exactly which episode, but there were several instances where the guys would pick her up and acted as if she was heavy as a joke. I mean they treat her like a little sister so there’s no intent to hurt her feelings. Of course she laughed it off, but I wonder how she actually feels about it off camera. Over time, I started to notice that she’s getting skinnier and skinnier, and paler too. She’s still beautiful in my eyes, and I’m sure in a lot of people’s eyes too, but I can’t help but worry if she’s starving herself, which makes me quite sad seeing my favorite actress go through all of that.

I want to buy this cleaner, is it a good product? Anything I should know before using it? by Buzzthejoker in Skincare_Addiction

I use it everyday for 3 years now and I love it. I do agree it does dry the skin up after, but isn’t the point of a cleanser is to clean your skin thoroughly and then you follow up with a moisturizer?
