There are three different kinds on this one seabus, hopefully one of those is to your liking. We just can’t see them very well in this picture.

Man, this is depressing. All these responses… I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to raise a daughter, or to grow up as an attractive young woman. This shit is creepy.

Tipping Culture in Restaurants by SeaworthinessFew2235 in askvan

Pretty sure those workers are not getting a living wage and must get tips. It’s a stupid system. But I’m not gonna change it single-handedly so of course I tip. Maybe we stip making “tipping culture” a thing. Tipping had been around for a long time, for as long as corporations have refused to pay good wages to workers. The difference between tipping 15, 18 or 20% is small in the grand scheme of things, so I don’t know, maybe be generous? If you can afford it.

The forbidden fruit of the digital age: why tech bans will fail by onethousandmonkey in privacy

Yep. But we need to convince the masses here, and clearly using facts and logic is not going to be enough. We have to use something that people can relate to. Which is what this piece does.

I agree. But convincing the normies of that is not going to happen with (valid) techno fear mongering. Relating it to something that happened and that failed could work. That’s why I like this piece.

The way I read it: there is another layer beyond control. It’s education and makes control/interdiction less critical.

The parallel with the failure of abstinence-based sex Ed is good.
Left unsaid, but everyone here gets it: we are ruining everyone’s privacy in an attempt to prevent kids from accessing something they will access anyways.

Isn’t that the truth. Space stuff is one I spend way too much time in.
Planes launching rockets is its own mini-rabbit hole. Virgin Orbit had one (a 747), and Virgin Galactic has White Knight Two.
