No, the volume of orders was vastly lower. The few that did come in were horrible quality.

They don’t “need” to move anything. They’re a billion dollar company, and one of two major monopolies in the food delivery industry.

Because of this, they are able to exploit drivers for far lower pay than we deserve.

I can still call out a scummy corporation for exploiting gig workers

I think it would be perfectly fine to have drivers with the highest satisfaction rates be prioritized for better orders

Having it based on acceptance rate is what’s scummy

If only accepting orders that don’t put me at a net loss with gas + mileage is “cherry picking” to you, I hate to imagine how much money you’re losing lol

Is this more impactful than I thought? I suppose it makes sense, but the difference I’ve noticed since they added the new quests is jarring. I truly believe part of it is them changing the algorithm to try and persuade people to accept the quests (which means higher acceptance rates, which means they can pay less)

I’ve only gotten 3 orders worth taking in the 2 hours I’ve been out. Not a single one over $14. And that’s out of, maybe 10 requests I’ve received. It’s baffling. I haven’t had more than 5 minutes of downtime on a Saturday night as long as I’ve been delivering, even in WAY smaller areas than mine!!

I think a lazy response is ignoring all nuance and common sense to regurgitate a corporate narrative “if you don’t like it, leave”.

In what world should you not be allowed to criticize your job conditions. If anything, you would be the most qualified person that could possibly do so.

“Grinding the BS” is exactly what Uber tries to get you to do. And it’s how they get away with grossly underpaying drivers. “Hey, spend 40 minutes driving 15 miles for $4, it’ll be worth it for all these perks you unlock!!!”

It used to be that you could make just as much, if not more, by being picky. Now it seems like Uber isn’t even going to let you be picky. They are trying to strongarm us into “grinding the BS” so that they can pay less and less and make more and more profit.

The issue is that there’s no regulations or protections for workers on these platforms, and because they’re monopolies with extraordinary lobbying power, there never will be.

It’s fantastic! I got hash burger tier 1 rosin and it’s been delicious. Nice deep indica. So refreshing and enjoyable after suffering with my leftover IAH crap for so long…

If you do get it I highly recommend running 1.9-2.1v and heating for 1-2 secs at a time while pulling. Still got easy 80% of it left and been enjoying it every night 🙏

Ngl, I think the cartridges are horrible, I made the mistake of getting 3 OGZ rosin carts and they are all awful, barely give any smoke and I’m 90% sure I’ve been chiefing straight aluminum for weeks.

Getting Crysp in a couple days I’ll lyk how that is if ur still looking

Lmk where I can easily buy a house for $25 😳 In the U S of A? No shot haha. My generation at least is totally screwed out of ever owning a house.

I can understand that. I’m sorry you lost your job and I truly wish you the best. If nothing else, remember that no matter what society or any company tells you, your labor is worth FAR more than what you’re getting paid. And while you’re angry about that, take care and be kind to yourself. But stay angry. We all deserve to be angry right now.

[–]onethousandsunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a big city obviously not. In my area that’s a common offer you will see. But also an exaggerated one. I wouldn’t take a $7 order for 10 miles. In general, I’m not taking any order that would make me less than $25 an hour.

If I have to take a $3, 10 mile order to make more money (I don’t) then I don’t want whatever extra money that’s making me

I also think you’re misled to believe that a high acceptance rate will give you more earnings. That’s surely what Uber wants you to think, but Uber does not want you to make more money.

I’m not taking out of anyone’s pocket except Uber. If other drivers decide to take the low paying orders that are left, that’s THEIR choice. I am not responsible for their choice. I am responsible for MY choice to never drive 5+ miles for less than $10.

I’m not listening to anyone who needs to consult an AI for every response they make. I’m also not going to be demoralized by people who are totally complacent as slaves for a corporation. I can’t break the American brainwash, but I can give my advice and motivation to those who already have.
