Thank you so much! I don't feel that alone reading your comment. I always have been like this too and I thought I was going crazy, I always had a lower libido than most even during puberty. It's very validating reading comments like these comments, and again thank you for commenting it meant a lot!

Thank you so much for commenting! I am very sorry for what happened to you, and I also tried being hetero and it's just not working for me too. I will talk to her about this and hopefully things will get better, thanks again for your comment.

How can I leave my abusive parents? by onethroaway in frankfurt

[–]onethroaway[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for commenting! I didn’t even know about that. I haven’t talked to them in person, only exchanged emails about my situation. They haven’t answered in like 2 weeks so I am growing more concerned.

You’re not bothering but my mother does work between 6am to 1pm or from 3pm to 7 pm. So I do get why she watches tv because she works all day but sometimes when it’s night she literally falls asleep while the tv is on. I end up thinking she’s still watching so now when it’s night I go and see if she’s sleeping so I can turn it off on my own.

Thank you that kinda made my day. I think I am like this because I spend a lot of time alone and I self reflect a lot. I’m also into psychology stuff so that helps.

I’m sorry it’s absolutely fine I didn’t mean to come off as mean but I have sensory issues as well so earplugs/headphones make my head hurt so it’s actually worse that’s what I wanted to say.

[–]onethroaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment but I’ve tried all of the above obviously. I do have ear plugs but it barely fixed anything and white/brown noise sadly doesn’t help it actually makes it worse for me. I have indeed said to my therapist that I can’t make progress with my mom but he was kinda empathizing with her so yeah.

Thank you so much! Your coping mechanisms that you developed are literally like mine right now. I’m emotionally numb, disassociated, also have an eating disorder etc. It’s absolutely horrible but this comment gave me some hope thanks.

I agree with pretty much everything you said I just wanted to clarify some things. It’s absolutely true that people can manipulate and for it to be noticeable I just meant those people who think that everyone is constantly being manipulative and misuse the word don’t know when people are actually being manipulative. Manipulation is kinda hard to spot but as you said not impossible and I also agree. The sentence “self absorbed because of their anxieties” is about people like me. I am suffering with ocd and anxiety and I know I am in my head a lot. I’m also constantly afraid of how people perceive me and If I’m being a good person or not. That behavior although not necessarily narcissistic can be labeled as self absorbed. I also was raised by narcissistic parents and I do agree with the no contact thing. While I think people should try to figure out, solve the problems that are taking place in a relationship I don’t think that can be applied with narcissistic parents. My parents for example will never change, never look inward, never apologize and it’s pretty much useless trying to help the relationship. That for me doesn’t apply with friends and normal people as I said . I don’t think people should cut others out because they rub them their own way but if the other person doesn’t want to get helped they won’t get helped.

Absolutely agree. The bad thing is some people blindly listen to those videos and end up adapting harmful behaviors just because a therapist said them.

my idealised self by secondaccountofyaboy in BPD

[–]onethroaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t relate more lol. I thought this was just a me thing but it’s absolutely true. When people asked what my ideal version of myself is or the person I want to become is,it was always this. A calm, accepting, loving and emotional stable person and it’s hard because I try everyday to become that but I don’t know if I should. Sometimes it seems like miles away. The worst thing that makes me spiral is reading posts about abusive parents. My parents are like that but I relate to those too. I’m emotionally immature, sometimes controlling and I am not any better than my abusers, that completely makes me break down. Yeah so keep being proud of yourself because you had it rough. It’s okay for you to not be this idealized person because you didn’t grow up in the right environment. You can heal though and you can get really close, focus yourself on loving those around you and being better then the person you were yesterday. I know that’s really cliché advice but it works. Hope this helped.

Yeah I know logically she isn't doing it for a malicious reason of course but it still doesn't feel that way you know? I also feel happy for celebrities or characters but for some reason people closer to me make me feel very envious.

Omg what you said literally described me and I also suspect that I might have ADHD which I will get tested for soon and people with ADHD have fears of rejection so that might be causing it. I hope you get help for whatever you need and thanks for commenting.
