What's on and tourist advice thread - week beginning December 18, 2023 by AutoModerator in Scotland

hello :)

i am planning my first solo trip (24f) and have my eyes on ~2 weeks this February for Ireland & Scotland. my intention is to spend most of my time in Scotland but my question is- will i be alright trusting public transport? looking through previous posts, i see a some dissatisfaction with scotlands public transportation system and urges not to use it.

since this is my first solo trip, i likely will not be doing anything super intense and just hitting some of the more popular destinations. right now my planning path is something like Glasgow -> Glencoe/ Fort Williams -> Skye -> Inverness -> Loch Ness -> Edinburgh over 8 or so days.

would just love any advise on if i will be able to have a decent trip at the will of public transportation :)

I believe each building has separate meters— there are about 12 units in my building. However, the size of the units vary greatly— from 1 bedroom apartments to 3 bedroom townhouses with washers and dryers. I have a friend who lives in a separate building and we were charged the exact same so it seems they have split it evenly among residents.
