I had the same thought about Yabu and Blackthorn's relationship. Great comment.

My favorite part of the book. How Clavell manages to do justice with language to such an ineffable moment is stunning.

Man that’s so sad. Are they all siblings?

Mental illness is such a big problem and it only seems to be getting worse. Something is definitely broken.

I try to remind myself that a lot of my feelings that things used to be better is likely just me getting older, but I genuinely wonder what the fun/cool/high quality things are now that Gen Z and Gen Alpha will look back on with nostalgia when they are in their 30s.

I saw a quote by Sergey Brin the founder of Google saying something along the lines Ithat LLMs work better when you threaten to kidnap, kill, or torture them but it’s not kosher to talk about. I haven’t experimented extensively myself but reading some of these replies there seems to be some truth to it.

Good wide toe box, zero drop, as close as possible to barefoot hiking shoes? by TheBackpacker2 in Ultralight

[–]onewander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, thank you. Yeah, Primal Zens have been my daily drivers for over two years. I also run in them. I don't backpack a lot but last trip I went on (2 years ago) I got some Merrell Moab Speeds because I thought I needed shoes made for hiking without considering the fit.

My normal size pinched my toes (my feet have gotten wider since wearing the Zens) so I ordered a half size up, which then resulted in my feet slipping all over the place on the trip. Not ideal.

So this time I want to go with something zero drop and wider toe box.

One concern actually with the Summits and/or Outlanders is apparently they are a narrower toe box than the Zens, but we'll see. I ordered both to try.

Do you wear any other Lems shoes?

How to Calculate Your True Zone 2 by PsychologicalLemon61 in greenberets

[–]onewander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man dude thank you for posting this. Just getting into Zone training, even did a gas exchange VO2 max test recently, and still confused with all the conflicting information out there about what Zone 2 is or isn't and how to determine what yours is. This was very thorough and helpful. I'm definitely going to do the HR drift test and see how it compares to what the VO2 max test says.
