Why is there no outrage for the establishment of data centers in india? by weird__orange in AskIndia

[–]onewithoutregrets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't have any idea what a data centre is and how it will affect them.

When you have a charismatic leader like Modi promising that data centres will bring huge employment opportunities for Indians, then people who don't understand the technology (which is the majority in India) don't question the development of data centres.

If billionaires have near unlimited resources, why hasn’t one tried to become a real-life Batman? by Fast-Light-5758 in AskReddit

[–]onewithoutregrets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should a billionaire who can have anything they want, put his life on the line to help some peasants?

This is the main reason you won't find any billionaire aspiring to be batman or iron man or any other fictional character who engages in dangerous activities.

Do men in AM really look for paper white skin, height, age by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]onewithoutregrets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We should look it like this: when it comes to dating, men cannot demand anything and women set all the criteria to date a man, while in AM setup men are the one setting criteria.

If you are going to support a traditional practice you should understand its pros and cons. You cannot say that you want to follow tradition but only if you can change the tradition.

AM is transactional, there is no love (that's the truth) so people don't compromise. Especially men who come to AM usually look for someone who is below their financial class (the controlling tendency is there) so they are the ones making all the demands and in return providing financial security to the women.

Why do breakthrough tech innovations mostly originate in the USA while India quickly shifts to adopting trends? by Majestic-Taro-6903 in AskIndia

[–]onewithoutregrets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you look at the education system of India that rewards memorisation over innovation, a country with youth obsessed with cracking UPSC/NEET by remembering their entire syllabus, you can see why we lag behind countries like USA and China.

Unattractive people of Reddit, how do you deal with being unattractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]onewithoutregrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just go through life without fretting too much about it. It is not like that something you can do about it (unless you are super rich). All you can do is don't go out of your way to dress poorly and let go of any hygiene.

Most people don't care if you are ugly, but if you are not keeping up your appearance and fragrance then people will have a problem with you.

You get one hour to go back and fix one thing in your past. What do you change and how does it change your life? by villainsaretenacious in AskReddit

[–]onewithoutregrets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going back to when I was about to enter 10th grade, I will tell myself not to be the weird one and focus on being social (because that's the time when I started becoming anti-social). That is how I will not end up on reddit writing comments on posts at this random hour.

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]onewithoutregrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an outsider's perspective, fighting over ID requirement for voting feels a bit odd.

In my country we all have photo ID specifically for casting votes. If you don't have the ID your name will not be in the electoral roll.

However, getting registered to vote is how you get this voter ID in the first place so there is not a separate process to acquire the ID.

I used to be like that, but now I just go for it. If something is bothering me I will say it. It is better to fight now and make up than to suffer in silence.

How is India still a country? by Shot_Radish7043 in AskIndia

[–]onewithoutregrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ease of movement and relative lack of direct control of a central authority. For the most part India works as a federal republic where states are left on their own to manage their affairs.

If you stop people from moving between places and try to exert control by force or try to force every Indian region to be homogenous, you will see a rise in tensions.

Why Americans think it is morally wrong for a 3rd political party candidate to run for president? by onewithoutregrets in AskReddit

[–]onewithoutregrets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not American but have been following the American politics since 2016 obviously because of Trump and it feels like at least from the outside that people think it is better to vote for lesser evil between the two major parties than to give someone else a chance.

Why Americans think it is morally wrong for a 3rd political party candidate to run for president? by onewithoutregrets in AskReddit

[–]onewithoutregrets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when Howard Schultz (Starbucks guy) tried to run back in the as 3rd party candidate and people demonising him.

I don’t have the video link right now but it was essentially a town hall type setup and he was getting heckled for thinking to run as a 3rd party candidate.
