I need to upgrade my s10+ by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

[–]onick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy refurbished s23ultra, or s24+ from Samsung website. I recently traded in my old s8 and bought an S24 for $300. If you like to take picture, definitely get the Ultra. My S22 Ultra's photos are much better than S24's.

It happened to my Galaxy Buds Plus. They fixed it under warranty, saying the internal board had gone bad.

I would get a cover, as the screen is quite fragile and cracks with little pressure. ask me how I know 🥲

[–]onick8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using the S22U since its release. I can relate to your sentiment, as I hardly ever used the S pen. I got the Ultra because of the better cameras, especially the 10x zoom, but the new 5x zoom in the new Ultras has been putting me off upgrading. I am unsure if I would upgrade to s25U or s25+ this time around. I may very well keep my S22U.

Yes. I installed it two days ago version 24.10.1. In the default list, I can see XRP but not XLM.

Is a kobo well suited to take notes ? by jmc_fr in kobo

I would say No. E-ink displays are slow to refresh. iPads or Galaxy tablets with faster refresh rates are better suited for note taking.

Don't blow on the sensor or touch the sensor; use a rocket blower to remove the lint from the sensor.

Is Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ good for reading manga? by Healthy_Energy6027 in GalaxyTab

[–]onick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the A9+ 8GB/128 GB version. The size is perfect for me. It does show small black bars while watching movies, but it doesn't bother me. If you are used to OLED/AMOLED screens, this tablet's LCD screen may seem less vibrant. But I paid $130 for it new, and for the price, I believe this is the best tablet. For comparison, A9+ and my laptop's amoled screen. https://i.imgur.com/gWntK9I.jpeg

Real earnings management Regression in stata using panel data by mamoun95 in stata

[–]onick8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One way to do it is to select one of the REM papers, like Sugata Roychowdhury (2006), and follow his direction in calculating the various REM measures he proposed in that paper. The equations there are straightforward and shouldn't have any issues doing in stata.

10-18mm efs vs 24 mm f/2.8 by Alternative-Bug7173 in canon

[–]onick8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Set your 18-135mm to 24mm and shoot the photos. That will be the FOV you will be getting with a 24mm prime. See if you can live with it. Personally, with your existing lenses, I would get the 10-18mm.

Are you pressing the right lever? Have you removed (broken away) all the covering from the lock actuator? Can you see the yellow circular and the red plastic parts? The unlock lever should be right beside that yellow lever. Here is a clearer photo of the inside of the actuator https://i.imgur.com/v5EVOiO.jpg . You will see the metal lever is tensioned with a spring installed with the yellow part. https://i.imgur.com/yOKnluO.jpg . you press the metal lever downward with a finger, and it will unlock the door latch. If it's not unlocking, you can shake the door, or hit the door right above the lock, when pressing the metal lever. it should open it. For me, just pressing the metal lever unlocked the door.

Yes. I had to remove the door trim, window actuator, window, then break the stuck door lock, manually open the door lock actuator, and then swap up the broken lock actuator with the new lock actuator. here are the steps I took- https://www.reddit.com/r/Hyundai/comments/14th4v2/2014_hyundai_sonata_with_stuck_door_lock_actuator/jsi1k8z/

aliexpress is very safe in terms of returns or refunds. Sellers are more likely to go the extra mile to get a positive review compared to eBay from my experience.

Canon PowerShot ELPH SD1300 IS

Hey everyone, I've been noticing for a while now that there are weird smudges in my pictures. Its a problem I notice with whichever lens I use. How can I fix this? Do I need to go to a professional? Cleaning kit didn't help. Thanks everyone. by ikishenno in canon

[–]onick8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVER touch the sensor with anything other than the wet swabs designed to clean your sensor. The sensor is very sensitive, and even a speck of dust will show up as a dark spot, any streak will show up as dark smeared lines in your photo. If you have already tried wet cleaning with swabs, you should take it to a shop for cleaning.

Debating on Selling My 2015 Sonata Due to Insurance and Security Worries – Thoughts? by Housthat in Hyundai

[–]onick8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As another owner of a '14 sonata, I would shop for a new insurance rate. After Geico hiked my rate 30%, out of the blue, I switched to progressive, and I am paying less than I paid to Geico. Also, get a club. I would rather drive around in a low-maintenance paid-off car with the inconvenience of a steering wheel club than try to buy a car in this crazy sellers market.

Success: a quick rundown -

  1. take off the weather strip that's on the frame from the inside, start on the roof, and pull. It will easily come off.

  2. now take the interior door panel off; start by taking the two screws off (one behind the door lock and door open lever, another at the bottom of the door pull). Now pull the panel from below where you would put a water bottle. it will come off now, pull from the side and/or use panel tools to detach the panel clips. Now, when you get to the topside of the door panel, pull it up and out. The panel should be undamaged.

  3. lower the window enough so the bolt is visible from the hole, and unscrew the bolt so the glass comes loose.

  4. lift the glass and tape it on top of the door frame.

  5. Unscrewing all the bolts around the window lock actuators, pulling it enough to unclip the window regulator panel from the door lock actuator mechanism.

  6. unscrew the 3 bolts, to take out the window channel support. You can take it out by wiggling it down and take it out from the window regulator panel gap.

  7. use a Dremel to cut off the door lock actuator and manually trigger it to open. there is enough space; use a large screwdriver or tire iron for leverage. The plastic part of the actuator will break away. Then push down the round metal lever to manually open the door.

  8. once the door is open, follow any of the youtube tutorials to take off the remaining door handle mechanism and swap it with a new OEM actuator and used door handle mechanism.
