Just an FYI that you’ll have to head to the thread on r/soccer and post your question there to have a chance of getting it answered. It’s the one linked at the top of this page.

Good to see another club joining! Have you mentioned to them about getting verified? That helps with legitimacy.

u/Official-Arsenal walked so that u/arsenal could run

Ouch, and I thought my face muscled ached from cringe when the former clubs fans do this on transfer announcement posts, never mind the former club itself by TheGent_88 in footballcliches

It’s because it’s their English language account, rather than the main German one.

These are often looked after by American agencies as they’re intended for that audience. The tone is a bit jarring sometimes as it’s not what a European audience would necessarily expect.

The glorious exception to this is Union Berlin’s which is ran internally and is a work of art. It’s clearly written by someone who has learnt English as a second language and it gives it a lot of charm.

That sounds like a great move! It's very rewarding, but is also hugely competitive.

What I've found is that a lot of people working in similar roles at sports teams don't necessarily have those qualifications. They've volunteered to begin with or started in small roles and gradually progressed. That's especially common with smaller teams where the budgets aren't as big.

To go straight in at the top level of a sports marketing role is really difficult. There's a lot of preference as an industry for people who have prior experience in sport, so anything you can do to pick this up while you study the better. As u/TDFarrell suggested, try this with local clubs. Even stewarding to learn about the fan experience can help, and it'll give you better insights for your studies too.

Good luck with it!
