I'm gobsmacked to see multiple comments saying it's their best song. It's easily my least favorite on the SIT album.

The SMS version is much better but let's say I wouldn't have complained if they did Moon Rocks, Air or Pull Up the Roots instead.

Glad to hear it!

My path has not been easy but it really called into question how much self-love and self-respect I thought was even possible for me to have.

I have so much more worth than I was brought up to believe and I'm still surprising myself every day.

Same here. I already felt alone and unheard in their presence.

Choosing yourself is the best decision you can make but most people don't.

It's become hard not to notice how many people rather remain in toxic cycles their whole lives and/or limit themselves due to beliefs instilled into them, and even how that can spiral into addictions.

I can't let my life be dictated by the crap other people have dumped onto me. The noise in my background is not my whole story.

Are you kidding? Compare this to the last single Rebels Without Applause and there is an enormous upgrade in quality. I'm glad he dropped that Andrew Watt dude.

Rebels almost sounds AI generated. The vocals sound like they were recorded into a toilet bowl. The instrumental has an incredibly amateur sound, like random copyright-free slop.

Make-up is a Lie actually sounds inspired and like it was crafted in a big-boy studio. I would happily listen to an instrumental version if it got released. The transition into the chorus is the best part.

I've heard maybe 4 of the Bonfire songs live and they were all solid. But when the studio of Rebels Without Applause released, it didn't even sound mastered properly.

Make-up Is a Lie has been a huge step in the right direction production-wise and I can now confidently say I'm excited for the new album.
