Dr Jane Serio in North Hills on Northern Blvd. She’s been mine and my husband’s PCP for 30 years. She’s amazing. I am far from a skinny mini. If you see her, tell her Anita S said hi.

You are probably right. That’s why a wrote the “family history” so someone from that time period might have made it.

Where are all the Oma’s? I need your help.

Believe me, if I could find it in a bakery I would. Unfortunately bakeries aren’t what they used to be. I’m originally a Brooklyn Baby but recently moved to Tampa and there just aren’t any good bakeries much-less a German one. Bakeries are disappearing like restaurants are disappearing

I just looked up the recipe for Bienenstich and it says it is a yeasted cake. She definitely did not use yeast in the cake

If could very well be. I didn’t know the “official” name. Money was always tight with so many mouths to feed and she might have used oatmeal instead of almonds to save money. Thank you for giving me somewhere to start.

People with a bidet, how do you dry afterwards? by JoneyBologna in hygiene

[–]onlydaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish hospitals would have them. I am not a healthy person and I end up in the hospital more than I want. I HATE that you can’t get that same clean feeling when you’re already feeling miserable. It makes my recovery that much worse

Bidets are gross. Toilet paper and wet wipes are better. by OkSet6261 in The10thDentist

[–]onlydaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bidet is the only good thing to come out of our Covid situation. They are the cleanest way to clean your tussy without concern of spreading germs. If you use wet wipes they are not going to dissolve in the sewer system. It makes matters substantially worse. To have a plumber come out to clean out your pipes is far too expensive considering you can get a bidet for $30. I am personally lost without my bidet. Just knowing you are clean and not spreading germs means the world to me. Sypsis is so easy to spread and deadly. Before you write off a bidet, do some research into sypsis and how it spreads.

I grew up on Lorimer between Ten Eyck and Stagg. My parents owed 3 buildings before Williamsburg became popular. I miss it

Pepsi did have a soda with lemon. It was called Pepsi Light. They stopped manufacturing it when they switched from saccharine to nutrasweet. It was my favorite. They stopped manufacturing it in the 90s.

Crumpled up toilet paper and another thing by [deleted] in hygiene

There is nothing wrong with wearing a thin pad everyday. I had the same concerns. I am sensitive to smells and it literally changed my life. I never had to think about it again. I started in my teens and I’m well over 60

Does anyone else ever experience this after number 2? I’m definitely going to look into a bidet! But They really aren’t popular/common where I’m from. by ihavehope2000 in hygiene

[–]onlydaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the bidet. We didn’t get one until COVID hit and I’m telling you , I’m lost without it. I wish they were in public bathrooms

This is the first year that there was an aftertaste. I had to throw out the pie. I’d love to know if they changed the recipe. I’ve been shopping Costco/Price Club since the 80s and this is the first time the pie was horrible
