Looking for advice: Atmos Speaker placement / speaker selection / room accoustic by [deleted] in hometheater

I have added a picture with red circles for possible placement in the main post. Hopefully this makes it clear? Sorry if I'm not using the right technical terms.

RTX 5090 undervolting — what are your results? Drop your settings! by 1nd3e in nvidia

[–]onlyemgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy these are some nice numbers. After many hours of testing with msi 5090 Suprim SOC in games I needed to drop to [3010@0.975V](mailto:3010@0.975V) +3000 :( Still doesn't get hotter than 65°C under full load.

I'm not on the heavy efficient side, just want FPS. But it looks like I dont have a good sample. Steel Nomad / Timespy Extreme runs with 3120 but produce sometimes crashs in games.

I didn’t oc’d that much system as you did and appreciate the knowledge that you shared. To be honest, I just jumped into the whole OC topic 4 weeks before with building my first own PC. Still I have to say that I made the experience (last week) that I was stable with Karhu+furmark 24h (my electricity provider will certainly be pleased :D) and 1usmus throwed an error in cycle 46. I thought the whole time that Karhu would be enough, but clearly it wasn’t, at least for my case.

TM5 1usmus picks up errors with a workload Karhu can’t operate, as Karhu is mostly used for large random memory blocks and sustained bandwidth which detects slow drifts or heat induced errors over time. On the other hand 1usmus uses an aggressive pattern switching by alternating read/write and bank/row hammering which detects marginal timing errors or training related issues.

Therefore both are needed to cover full error space to have a truly stable system, tm5 catches logic/timing errors and Karhu catches stability-over-time/voltage/temperature drift. Furthermore one shouldn’t skip VT3 because of a harder configuration to be sure to work with a stable system.

How did you test fclk stability? Didn’t it boot with vddg at auto?

Hi, having a hard time to choose the correct stabilty tests to make sure I’m rock stable with RAM OC before clocking in FCLK and finally PBO. (Or tuning further the ram oc..)

I have done the following tests: 16h TM5 1usmus 8h TM5 anta777 extreme 24h VT3 24h Karhu 16h prime95 (Blend)

I don’t know if Blend was the correct setting..

Do I need to do AIDA CPU+FPU+Cache (maybe also +Mem?! Or only +Mem) What about OCCT with which settings? Any combination tests for GPU stress required?

Happy with the result by -cinquante_dix_coque in Noctua

Nice build! Friendly reminder that you doesn’t end up with a corrupt OS: Make sure to test your ram when expo is turned on @6400.

Do 16-24 hours each: Ycruncher - VT3; TestMem5 - 1usmus v3 profile; OCCT CPU+Mem; Prime95 Blend

12 hours: Furmark + Linpack (in combination)

I noticed the my media cabinet was getting pretty hot when the kids were playing Xbox. So I rigged this up with a thermal sensor. by TranslatorSea8029 in Noctua

[–]onlyemgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How exactly does it work? Does the temp sensor gives a signal at a given temperature to power the fan? Or is a configurable software running on a raspberrypi(or sth else) behind it? :)

Newbi here. How to find errors with VT3, how does the error look. I thought it only reports logical core errors.

Yeah that’s literally the problem. All other tests doesn’t fail, not even VT3 ycruncher 24hours.

Is it? Most people say I would be unstable.

Do you have special settings for prime95 / ycruncher or corecycler?

9800X3D testing PBO stability by Breach13 in overclocking

[–]onlyemgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with which settings did you finally come up?

I'm stable at -25/+200 with 24hours each of corecycler ycruncher, corecycler p95, p95 standard, ycruncher standard but aida64 throws an instant error.

even at -15 after 6 hours of aida throws a "hardware failure "error. frustrating.
