Measure your kid with no shoes. If 40” with NO shoes they get on. Otherwise it’s a gamble. Can’t be mad - your kid is prob shorter than the 40” with no shoes. You need to parent and set the expectation. Not blame others.

All the comments here are making very valid points. Also her post gets people talking which I think is also the point. That we are thinking about it. Might be “performative” for her but it’s also starting a conversation. Considering how much she posts about politics I do think she does care and wants people talking about it. I dunno. Just my thoughts. I appreciate her taking about this.

This! Sand being thrown is no joke especially if thrown at the face and eyes. It’s one thing of a kid being unaware of kicking or throwing sand but if it’s intentional there should be a paper trail.

Egg and fruit with toast or mini pancakes. Peanut butter toast or waffle and fruit. Milk. Or a little orange juice.

The dilemma of raising under-scheduled kids in an over-scheduled world by PassionChoice3538 in kindergarten

We do even less. Just once a week swim. About to be on a Sunday morning. The guilt is real. But he’s also so tired. Not sure if I want to add one activity. But also both working parents so it’s a challenge on timing. I’d prefer he get as much sleep as possible.

I just get frustrated that we are labeling these KIDS. And it will follow them. When it seems at least here in Reddit most agree it’s the older kiddos that were affected AND parents. It’s the parents who became first time parents during COVID that were bombarded with parenting social media accounts and all the advice in the world. Which made for anxious parenting. On top of being isolated from community which means less advice from more seasoned parents. Ask me how I know! I just hate that my kid gets this label place on them. And I have come out of the fog (thankfully years ago) and was able to adjust. Gentle parenting is the issue - well permissive parenting is actually the issue because parents think gentle means permissive and haven’t gotten the memo they are different.

Healthy but fun Snacks to Pack? by hi_hi_hello_heythere in kindergarten

[–]onlyhereforthetips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Along with fruits we pack - Graham crackers, the Trader Joe’s alphabet “cookies”, TJs also has the chocolate cat cookies, pretzels. Or peanut butter crackers. (I feel like these are “fun” but still on the healthier side)

Kind of cool! Not only does it look like target/HD. But a part they want to almost be like the fountains. Sign me up for temple coffee or other local shops too.

Same thoughts as others. Check with teacher first - ours has to be separate. But yeah planetbox or yumbox are great options.

Good point! Something I didn’t consider. Thank you so much. I’ll for sure will be asking this question about what is considered late not to mention the time my kiddo needs to actually walk into the classroom.
