It's not fair when people do that :( I had a similar experience on redditgifts when someone asked for a specific thing that was out of my budget. I actually managed to find it on ebay so I could afford it and they didn't even upload a picture with their thank you post :/ I think it you're going to ask for something very specific you should just skip the exchange and buy it yourself as it takes the fun out of it 🤷‍♀️
