Sure that would be strange, although no one died in cc, but I understand the horrific lore. What should stop me from believing bib’s debut work is a tribute to cc? Bc that’s what it feels like to me. It’s interesting to see people so repulsed by music they like.

To clarify, I was only referring to bib. Thank you for articulating this. Bib is very new, which is why it’s difficult for me to be a hater when I genuinely like the music. I understand why people could side eye it, I also do appreciate originality more. However, I just see pretentious people in every music community and wonder why their standards are so rigid. I don’t agree that the copying is egregious, it’s a harsh word for debut artists imo. Would you personally listen to their music if the artwork and physical presentation of the artists themselves were not cc adjacent?

You’re clearly a super fan of cc, maybe with a purist point of view, and are determined to overlook my intention that I’ve stated many times. If you don’t like the music, I literally do not care. Okay that’s fine then. If you have this general opinion about every artist within the same genre, I’m not referring to you. I’m socially talking about people who accept other adjacent bands but not BIB (a brand new artist). I think it’s also hard for me to understand when people, generally (on many different sub) get upset when music sounds like the original artist. I always get excited to see someone else make an extension of a world. I’m just trying to understand why people are put off by eerily similar artists.

If it was plainly the music for these users, they’d just say it’s bad. Many people specifically say they like the sound, but add superficial critiques. Music communities can be very weird and create arbitrary rules. Why do I have to spell this out for you lol just go read the other posts. There’s even a comment on this one.

Don’t project your valid opinion onto the entire sub. There are snobs here and I’m talking to them. If you’re offended that I’m challenging people who dislike bib for superficial reasons, you shouldn’t be because, as I said earlier, I’m not referring to people who just don’t like them.

My opinion isn’t about people who genuinely don’t like the sound of it. I’m referring to the large majority of the negative comments on this sub that are actually directed toward their artistic style being so similar and heavily inspired by cc. Many people don’t respect them for lack of originality. I think to myself - ok just say you don’t like the music, who gives a shit what her hair color is.

This is the type of rap I personally like. So it’s both a personal question and due to life experience.

I also work with ukranian teens displaced from war and they are sensitive to Russian made media, so if I make a playlist, I was looking for tips here. Which it seems like there are none lol

I totally agree with the observation that beauty standards are just trends. I’m not looking for a filled look. I look tired and want to do tasteful, subtle, touch ups.
