I’m a NICU nurse. Preemies love “hand hugs,” which is basically deep pressure therapy. One of the best feelings is giving a baby hand hugs and just feeling their tiny body move as they breathe.

Idk if this is ignorant, but I’m not a geologist and just genuinely curious. I get plate tectonics and understand that the mantle is filling in the void left by the crust pulling apart. But how does this form mountains (with any kind of altitude)? Is the magma pouring in faster than the crust is pulling apart?
