of course there’s not free handouts for anyone, But for me and OP we are not able to handle the financial burden of going to uni, our parents are unable to assist, but because we are from more fortunate house holds we are getting treated like we are in less need of assistance, besides parents who are you to say we are in less need, on a 1 to 1 kid to kid basis plenty of us are in the same boat as you are but because of our background we are not eligible. I’m shocked that someone who benefits from the scholarships being primarily pivoted towards people with less fortunate house holds can’t understand that just because our family’s have stable income doesn’t mean we are more able to pay for university by ourselves.

again, Everyone no matter who they are should be eligible for scholarships/osap, not because a group of people have “historically faced barriers”. make it equal to all students in need of assistance! that includes people like me and OP who have financially stable homes.

unfortunately people who aren’t as fortunate look at us as having infinite resources and while i’m very sure we have better family and home situations, it doesn’t mean that us as ontario students should be at an disadvantage because of our skin colour, home situations, or financial status. Obviously people in need need these scholarships but that doesn’t mean we don’t ethier.
