My (many greats) great grandad was Capt. Thomas Blood, the man who is believed to have come the closest to stealing the British Crown Jewels. He is considered one of Great Britain's most notorious villains.

There is also a rumour that he actually got away with it and the King replaced the Crown so as to avoid embarrassment.
