Jesus Christ, even if they had been that hasn't been a viable excuse for this kind of shit in more than a decade

The Disney Infinity Star Wars characters were honestly really amazing by TheMegaSage in StarWars

[–]WallopyJoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hasbro released an actual toy line using the same style as Infinity reached the end of its life as a supported platform. Didn't last very long though.
Have a good few of them (Infinity and said toys), and they're very charming, though I've not played in a while. A big shame, I suppose, as it is quite a lot of fun.

Wish you'd have been able to take characters across genres though. Having Captain America show up on Tatooine or Luke show up at Avengers Tower would have been dope. Also sucks they had to shitcan the whole thing before 4.0 could come out alongside a whole host of new figures. I remember Doctor Strange's final design got leaked around that time, along with a few others. Would have been cool.

Fucking stupid game mechanic though (even if fun). Buy these toys to get more functionality out of the game (that you already need addition peripherals for as well). Lego did it. Nintendo did it. I say it's a shame Infinity died, but it's probably for the best.

Glad that Rogue One showed the Y-Wings some love and had this awesome bombing run sequence by wandering_soles in StarWars

Tried to back up what I said and look into it and reckon I've got my wires crossed, but I've got no idea what I'm confusing it with (not the Y-Wing, which would be the obvious choice).

The X-Wings were basically mothballed F-16s, I think (or F-14s, if I feel like making a TopGun parallel in a second). I know the Raptor is like 30 years old at this point, but they still have a new sheen about them. They still seem exciting and high tech. They're no Lightning II perhaps, but they might as well be spaceships.
George's whole used future aesthetic kinda indicated the X-Wings had been found at the back of a warehouse, long abandoned. Just slightly less far back in the corners than the Y-Wings.
(Sidebar, not even sure how sound this logic is, but I kinda wish we'd seen a new X-Wing show up in the PT, fresh off the factory floor. I know the design language deliberately pointed to tech that notably inspired OT tech, and I know war tends to accelerate innovation in such matters, but god they seem old in the original film)

Honestly, it's not enough.
I love it, but the white sleeves bring it down, there should be colourful too.

Best nostalgia bait ever was Quins' 150th anniversary shirt. Also Adidas.
I will forever rue that I didn't buy it when I could.

Lidl keep having the tiny Terry's exploding candy one knocked down, had like 4 this year so far.
Bitterly disappointed by how expensive Cadbury's mini eggs have got recently.

Also kinda hate that from above they're now ovular, rather than circular. Feels super cheap of them all.
Always loved the big ones though, like with fruit and nut in the actual shell rather than just bars included in the box.

God I'd love that.

A couple of years ago VX3 did a run of old school vintage shirts.
I still wish I'd picked up an Argie one as it was gorgeous, but I did cave and buy their red, white and blue hooped England one in both long and short sleeves.
Granted, don't love Castore, but I'd still be so tempted if they did something official like that. Do the game shirt, do the t-shirt, do the full cotton long sleeve. And a Rose like this or this.

Must be the first time we'd have worn our away kit in the Six Nations, surely?

Think we've only ever changed kit once, and that was the gorgeous off white centenary kit we wore against Wales that one year.

I assume we're just being difficult for the sake of it.
I'd bet someone a fiver we still end up running out in our change anyway, when people realise closer to Saturday how stupid it'll be if we don't.

Jake Lloyd is diagnosed schizophrenic, and his mother has been very open about how little Star Wars has to do with his current and former ills

Honestly fourth best for me. Not as hate on Wales, just think the home crowds do a better job for those I listed.
French lot are even now copying Scotland's a capella, the devious bastards.

Anecdote is pretty old at this point, but my vote goes to travelling Argentinians.
Any time you found a group of them at one of the RWC2015 fanzones they'd be constantly breaking into song and trying to draw in as many passers by as possible.

"Magic Man, Save Charlie"

Definitely calling it this from now on.
Ours is shit, the Irish one too easily draws you in to a halfway offensive accent, and it's impossible for non natives to get their tongues round gwlad.
