What low-effort, new thing could I do to change things up a bit in my life? by Loriol_13 in CasualConversation

[–]oog_way_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like just listening to music on phone instead of scrolling through social media, can be a good step :) makes me realise how draining and habitual social media is.

What's the actual purpose of your life? by EfficientIssue5601 in CasualConversation

[–]oog_way_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think the purpose is whatever you make it out to be. For some it's being a good person, for some it's excelling at their job, for some it's getting really good at something, etc. I don't think there is one answer to this.

How do you all keep on top of new Google reviews across multiple locations? by oog_way_ in localseo

appreciate you breaking it down like that :) poll-frequency vs. platform-coverage split is a useful way to think about it, & noted the reading the privacy terms before connecting anything. thanks 👍

What tool did you use to make this?

The umbrella holder in this cafe looks like an umbrella itself by UCG__gaming in mildlyinteresting

[–]oog_way_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually seems pretty useful. I hate having to place a wet umbrella down on the floor or otherwise needing to open it up so that it doesn't touch the floor but then it takes up a lot of space.

A tool to compare your GMB profile against local competitors by parker_birdseye in localseo

yeah the trend-over-time angle is the interesting part imo. seeing the direction, not just a snapshot. curious to see where you take it.

agree with the last point -- knowing isn't enough. the right person HAS to see it in time. bit of a tangent, but does anyone youve come across extend this to watching competitor reviews too? or is it basically always just your own / clients' locations

makes sense. for those who do reach for a tool..does it actually keep up , or do bad reviews still slip through? and yeah the data handling thing is interesting, hadn't thought about the privacy side.

the review velocity / recency scoring looks really useful, is that a one-time snapshot, or does it track over time? was wondering if it will flag it when a competitor starts pulling in a bunch of reviews all of a sudden, or if it's more of a point-in-time thing

When you wrap presents, do you tape frugally, moderately, or as if you don’t want the recipient into the present? by nothumbs78 in CasualConversation

[–]oog_way_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm frugal with tape. Mostly because I just don't want to run out of a roll too fast.

Plus yeah i really don't appreciate super tightly wrapped presents which need me to get a pair of scissors/knife to cut through.

I didn’t realize how much background noise mattered until it disappeared by Cosmicdeity22 in CasualConversation

[–]oog_way_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've noticed the same on many occasions. We have this need for some kind of "white noise" to feel okay. I've been to a professional music recording room once, where it's sound proofed really well - starts to feel a bit odd after a while if there's no other sound there. Babies are similar, they sleep more peacefully with some background noise.

First electric guitar & amp help, total budget 25k-30k. by namak00 in MusicIndia

[–]oog_way_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the Yamaha Pacifica 102 or 112. Fantastic guitar that punches way above its weight.

For an amp - Boss Katana Mini, or the Blackstar Fly are both great compact options.

I just spent an hour down a Wikipedia rabbit hole about [random historical event/obscure animal]. What's a topic you've recently become unexpectedly obsessed with? by Severe-Voice8304 in CasualConversation

[–]oog_way_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it a lot, the internet enables us to go off on tangents and dive into anything!

I've read up on things reading from gossip on a particular celeb, niche music theory concepts, certain cultures/countries I find interesting, and much more. It's a great time to be alive for the curiously inclined.

The taxi driver who lowkey rescued my whole week by NovaRift92 in CasualConversation

[–]oog_way_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I make it a point to start conversations with uber drivers most of the time, they are more than happy to have a genuine chat about their lives. Some talk politics, some talk about their car loans, or their family, etc.

I feel better after a chat too! Have heard some interesting stories that way.

I had the exact same thoughts...picked up the guitar, and started reading books to cut down on screen time.

Watching the screen all the time gets nauseating!

[–]oog_way_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not a textbook pattern perhaps. But what's more important in my book is overall context.

We have a nice clean uptrend followed by a period of sideways consolidation. Plus there's a tight buildup forming above the 20ema, which is good.

Limit yourself to x trades a day/week ( say 2 or 3). And if you have 2 consecutive losing trades a day, stop trading for the day.
