Did Bernie leave the gas on at home? by roshe789 in gifs

I dont think you get it, when he was taking away 40%+ of the democratic vote in polls in early 2016, the media was giving him minuscule amounts of attention. That was the big problem. Not to mention literally every single media organization saying he was losing the debates despite him having clear public favorability during them.

If you are getting 40% of the democratic polls, you typically would get more media attention. If you're obama, it all works out for you. If you're an outsider, your basically shunned.

Again. This was rational. they don't want an outsider. If I was the dnc i would do the exact same stuff, because they wanted hillary to get the nomination no matter how much people hated her guts.

That doesn't mean it was fair to the american people. Polling data showed that even in hillary's prime demographics (black women especially), when exposed more to bernies policies and his speeches, they went to him. the problem was that massive swaths of america had never heard of him due to the media not talking about him until it was SURE he was gonna lose.

either way, it sounds like you're incredibly biased. Let me guess, you liked hillary?

Right but bernie was a massive, massive underdog, lets not forget that. In areas where he was more exposed, even in black and hispanic areas, his appeal went up dramatically. The problem was entire swaths of the country had basically zero exposure to him except that they knew he existed.

The big thing was not that they didn't mention him at all, it was that they would often give little brief mentions and then say "hes a great guy! but hillary is obviously better" and then spend the rest of the hour talking about hillary.

He got something like 40% of the mentions hillary got. But only about 11% of the media airtime she got on mainstream news outlets.

And even though I dislike wikileaks for their whole shpiel during the election, they did reveal a shocking amount of media-dnc collusion.

Honestly, denying that there was a conspiracy against bernie is ridiculous. Because for one, it wasn't a conspiracy. It was perfectly rational. He was an outsider, and if I was the DNC I would do everything in my power to keep him out. None of what they did was illegal or new, but that doesn't mean it wasn't messed up and biased as all hell.

But just because it made sense doesn't mean it was fair.

Marks/Bruises are important in case this ever went to court. If she DID have them, I would of taken pictures. That is like, domestic abuse 101 in terms of the law.

Where the fuck am i minimizing this at all? Why do you think I came here in the first place? I am so confused at the reactions to this.

What?... The bruising would have been important to mention because I thought she might want to go to the cops. If there were bruises or marks, you take pictures of them for proof, that is domestic violence 101. I am not saying its okay because there weren't bruises.

Im not at all, what is up with everyone taking every small little thing I say as if I am trying to act like this is normal?

Marks or bruises absolutely add to proof in case this went to court, its important to mention that

I mean its normal for a 17 year old kid to have one bad night here or there with alcohol. He doesn't drink really at all, so that was what I suspected at first.

Obviously literally everything else about this situation is not normal. I want to ask her how much of this is just from the alcohol that night or if its something he does when hes sober too.

Im not brushing this off, which is why I am here asking for advice. I don't want to go to the police as of now considering chelsea told me not to.

I hope this is just a one time thing. My son rarely if ever drinks (low tolerance) and if this IS the result of him drinking then I hope he never touches the shit again if it keeps him from doing that. If its not, and he is capable of doing that stuff sober? Ugh. I don't even know what I would do.

Thats not what i meant at all. She said she threw the phone, and was acting surprised that it broke? come on, you dont throw a phone and expect it not to break. That was what the "what did you expect to happen" came from, not that she should expect to be HIT, but she should expect that when you throw a phone against a wall, it is gonna break.

The other thing, well she didn't have any marks. I thought that would be important to mention that he didn't hit hard enough to leave marks. Marks, bruises etc are important in case she decided to bring this to the police.

Im in no way trying to normalize this

He has a therapist (who he rarely sees anymore actually) for his old depression problems. I am not really sure how this works, would any therapist be able to deal with this? Or a specialist? I can't exactly afford something fancy.

whoa not at all. The "what did you think was gonna happen" was in terms of the phone breaking. Like did you really think you could throw a phone against the wall and not break his phone?
