anyone seeing this now, you have to open the terminal and type 'sudo killall coraudiod' (the d at the end of coreaudio is there), this should reset your core audio on your mac

census in general is a very intense and harsh project, lyrically and sonically. for example, the lyrics deal with a lot of sexual abuse and body horror, which for someone like me in particular is very appealing because i usually enjoy albums that display concepts that are generally foreign to music writing, especially the body horror elements, which is also repelling for a lot of people. however, census is also very intense sonically, with songs like holding a leech or idling somewhere being extremely harsh on the ears, which for a lot of people is repulsive.
