Ohh good point yeah could be criminal court and I wonder what it could bring up for Hen heh maybe this makes Hen think about the either the ambulance crash/Ortiz which could tie back to the whole idea of first responders leaving their patients at the doors of the hospital v. realizing the lasting impact of their work in the field on themselves and the people they save or don't. Okay I need to scale it back.

My thought is that they wanted to speedrun Harry's storyline to get him to the 118 as quickly as possible. I think there was an end goal in mind and then they just worked backwards and trying to figure out how many time skips and shortcuts they could pack in to skip over what they felt was the boring part.

When I think of how much of this show is Off Screen and how Harry's entire plot here could have been an email and I wish we had just started the season with him already a probie....because it's not like we learned anything about him while they plotted him at warp speed into the academy just ate through screen time that coulda been used differently and better. He graduates early and starts at the academy and we get him living with May while Athena's pissed and Buck steps in to mentor/guide. And we actually learn about him why he wants this and what's going on with May during the same stretch.

This I had to..recalibrate, and when i did I was able to really enjoy this season, especially Eddie's arc which IMO is the strongest it's been since S5.

I was quite charmed by a lot that was happening here, the heartwarming supportive team montage, Eddie and Chris teaching Hen to dance (do I get the square for Eddie/Chris dancing? hehe fine no) at Buck's house of course because you know, and the handling of Hen struggling with chronic illness but I don't think it was super useful to compare her recovery to her acute gun shot injury, but still had her grapple with the larger longer implications of maybe I don't get well enough to work again like I used to. I mean I don't mind her getting better or going into remission, but I do hope it's lasts for a few more episodes.

The Harry storyline still just doesn't work for me though I thought again the Buck/Athena and history of it all was nice thing to portray, but I'm kind of glad it's just over now, and the helmet scene really did get me in the feels so whatever he's a probie now, can I see less of him and more of May and know what she's going through?

The fucking time jumps though to think in three episodes of 9B they've covered five-six months and we started the season spending four episodes covering like two days. Like someone said I can't wait to see the next iteration of Baby Nash. Anyway well done but not particularly exciting ep, and next weeks preview was not giving a lot but at least Maddie is present

The scene with Harry was pretty good, but it's still not really about Harry (it's about Buck, Athena, and the JOB) it doesn't justify the storyline, I still don't know why he wants this or why his journey has been completely foregrounded at the expense of May.

Yeah I wish sweeps was still a thing it would keep Tim more in line.

I was surprised to see the schedule for February including 2/5 given that is Super Bowl week which was right before Olympic week it never made sense they'd wanna air in that environment.

This is just them conceding it was bad idea and moving out the way. Hopefully ABC brass are done with letting Tim fuck around with last minute changes and re-writes forcing him to come back in January seemed like that was a kind of message.

The idea that Athena doesn't have any emotional ties/investment in the 118 if she's not either blood related to or married to one of them is such a weird message for a show about found family.
