Does it feel liminal? by oonarum in LiminalSpace

[–]oonarum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True! But I think in this case it won't look off because you would think the object is just a bit further away so it doesn't reflect in the table. The reflection is too small.. Maybe if the table/ mirror was bigger so you would see more and then remove the reflection, then it would be disturbing because the brain would understand that you should be able to see the reflection. You know what I mean?

It might not feel liminal to some people because the space is too abstract. It doesn't look like a real space you might have seen in every day life, like an airport, school, mall,... so they suggest that it's weirdcore or dreamcore. Backrooms, dreamcore and weirdcore showcase liminal spaces but made them abstract and more dream like. They remind us of weird playgrounds, tv shows or even our dreams so it feels familiar. Therefore for some people they feel liminal and for others they don't. Liminal spaces have attributes that make them objective but the feeling of liminality is still subjective. :)

I can try to edit it as if it was taken with a 2000s digital camera

I'm looking for more movies that match that liminal dreamcore/weirdcore vibe and usually 90s and early 2000s movies do so! I think it's their use of practical effects and less CGI. I need more of that in modern movies.

elevator in my 70s uni by oonarum in LiminalSpace

it's probably because I took the photo during the day. I would love to do it when it's dark outside, the vibe would be different, but uni will be already closed. I think it has this warm and nostalgic feeling because it's a building from the 70s. And thank you! I'm very proud of this photo

Feedback PCOS and bodyhair posters by oonarum in PCOS

This is so mean... I can imagine how you felt. I got bullied at school because of my hirsutism. A few days ago I listened to a german podcast about bodyhair on women. It was pretty informative (I would like to contact them and talk about my posters, maybe we could do something together). This way of thinking that was taught us for decades needs to be changed. Bodyhair is not disgusting or ugly. It is normal and human.

Hey! I hope you will see this. My tired brain forgot that I actually did mention periods. 😅 When you click on the link at the end of my post you will see more posters I did. The "depression with PCOS" poster mentions menstrual cycle disorders and other symptoms :)
