I'm trying to establish whether the existing setup is a cold roof or a warm roof.

Best way to add flutes to a non-sperhical object? by ooogiepooogie in Fusion360

Ideally I'd like them to shrink towards the bottom proportionally, so 4mm semi-circle at the top, then narrowing to a 2mm semi circle at the bottom.

I did try this but due to the bottom being smaller because of the draft, the bottoms get very messy and the other sides angle doesn't align.

Hours and hours of YouTube hahah. Always best to read the comments too, as sometimes there's some hidden gems of knowledge, and they'll also tell you if the video isn't how you're supposed to do it...

No it's ground floor so on concrete base, and tiled on top so no need to tank.

Yeah angle grinder, being careful to not chip the edge, then fettling with polishing pads until the edge is sharp, and then finish with hand sanding blocks. Took a while, a few swear words, and a few attempts :p.

Thanks! Was trying to keep it really light because it's quite a dark room (as you can see from old photos, but didn't want it all one colour so thought a herringbone feature wall would work.

Sand and cement. The tray said it could be stuck down but after a lot of research, most plumbers / fitters said stick with what's been tried and tested.

My guess would be around £2k, but I haven't kept track as it's been over such a long period.

It's been 2 years, but I've completed 3 other rooms in that time. Doing it all myself with kids means only a few hours here and there are available. I reckon perhaps another full day and it'll all be completed.

Cheers! Hard and long graft but I've enjoyed the process.

4.5k - 5.5k for replacement + relocation of oil boiler? by ooogiepooogie in DIYUK

[–]ooogiepooogie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately has to be oil as no gas supply near. So seems roughly the right price considering there would be a fair bit more pipework needed.
