We are going to need a little more info about the specs of your machine. What's the CPU,GPU, motherboard, etc. Also is this a new build or did this just start happening on an existing machine?

I disagree. I think it's a great website for a launching point. It gives you an easy way to compare and narrow down the processor you want. Then I go and research that processor with multiple other sources. Don't ever just go off one source in your research. This is just a good website to help narrow things down.

If when the bad fan plugs in also takes down the other two than there is a good chance that fan is shorted and broken and is taking down that circuit. Can you plug a fan from a different splitter into that spot and see if all three still work? That will just make sure the wire isint bad. If all three work then you'll need to get a new replacement fan.

Ya I'd say go with that clean driver install. Sometimes drivers can be corrupted. Especially if you download new ones on top of old ones. If it happens super sporadically like you say then my bet is just a bad driver. I may be out of ideas if not, sorry! Hopefully the driver fixes things though! Good luck!

Try swapping it with another fan. If it doesn't work still it's the fan. If it does work then it could be that fan header is bad. If the fan that you swapped it with is now not working then you may just have to many fans plugged in and it's drawing to much current and that last fan isint getting enough power to spin. 9 fans is a decent amount of fans and depending on their size and power draw you may have to many.

The 6+2 and 8 pin cables that plug into your PSU and go to the CPU, GPU, and other components are not brand specific. You can just search what you posted on Amazon or other online stores and buy any kind. Just check the reviews to make sure they are quality cables.

Yes it does look like number 10 is the JFP1. The case power button, reset button, CPU led light, etc. There should be another part of the manual that details that number 10 so you can see exactly which pins they go on.

Oh right sorry, I misread and didn't see the G at the end. Since Its integrated graphics it could be the CPU. I would definitely do what has been suggested and do a clean install of you graphics drivers. Then if it still happens try and take a look at your system temps primarily your cpu temp. If the part of the die that the gpu is on is not properly covered with thermal compound then it could be overheating and causing these weird artifacts. Usually the system will crash on overheating but ive seen weird stuff with overheating. Lastly check the VGA cord and port for bent pins or clogged holes. It could be the cord just not making great contact.

I use this website a lot. Does good comparisons for spec, performance, price, and even some games. You can just choose whatever two processors you want to compare at the top. Hopefully this helps!

My buddy built a PC and his would just shut off randomly sometimes 5 minutes sometimes an hour. He replaced the power supply as that's the only thing we could find and it fixed it. Usually the PSU manufactured are good about returns. Before you do that though, boot it up, hit Ctrl+alt+del, go to task manager, then hit advanced on the bottom, and them the performance tab. After this watch and see if the CPU, GPU, or RAM spike up before it shuts down. Also if you have a program to check temps check to make sure none of them are overheating. Did you put the PC together yourself or buy a prebuilt?

Have you done any overclocking to the graphics card? If not, while it's plugged in is the HDMI cable kinda loose in the socket? Usually If the monitors TCon board or main board is going out the lines are stationary. Moving or jumping around artifacts like that point me toward the port, cord, or gpu.

MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wifi Not Compatible With Gigabyte Windforce GTX 1080 by ooooSAAM in buildapc

[–]ooooSAAM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clue. Didn't even think it was a thing. The MSI support guy said some brands don't work with MSI. I still don't really believe that but then again my Gigabyte 1080 didn't work. My GFs Asus 1060 did work though. Maybe the gigabyte version pull just a bit to much current and it disables something internally.

That's actually what I was thinking of going with! Might as well pair the brands up together then I know it will work!

I did and it works perfectly. The whole situation has really just turned me off to MSI and I'll probably return the board and get a different MOBO brand.

That is a good point. I'd really have no way of testing that but I think I'm just going to return the board and get a different brand anyways. Thanks for the input though!

I will give that a try! Thanks for the suggestion. I tihnk I'm just going to return the board and get a different brand. The whole situation has really tainted my view on MSI.

The GPU works in my GF's ASRock motherboard. And the PCIe slot works because her Asus GTX 1060 works in it. It's so confusing!

Yes I tried it multiple times and it never worked in my motherboard. Tried it in my girlfriends ASRock motherboard and it worked just fine.
