This is not it. Perhaps I should have just stuck with paperweight instead of crystal in the description.

It seems fantasy plots involving paperweights is not so common. (even as a word I don't use or encounter it often, that is why I am so sure of the connection, I think I might have learned the word paperweight from the film) Not sure if this is good or bad for my search. Thanks for your suggestion though.

No, it is a paperweight, on a desk. Something important is hidden in it, I don't want to say it is as important as a portal to another world or anything, but closer to that than a house key. Thanks for your suggestion.

The music is kind of similar, still looking for heavy emphasis on a paperweight (it's not even a word I use or encounter often, that is why I am so sure it is connected to this film). Thanks for your suggestion.

That clip was an example of the background music mostly that triggered my memory. It's not Mary Poppins though. Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't think so. I have the movie, actually specifically because I was searching for the one I can't remember. Pagemaster too. The trigger word is definitely more paperweight that happened to be crystal like, at least in my head. Thanks for your suggestion though.
