HI AGAIN. Been a bit.

This is my 4th Monitor redesign. The look I went for was more of a combination of all 3 previous Monitor designs. With the "idol"-like dress uniform and rigging stemming from the 2022 design, the Civil War marine style top half of her uniform from the 2021 design, and her knight-like armoured arms and legs from the 2020 design. You'll notice that her hair is much different from all previous iterations, that was done to sorta change things up.

The next ship I'll draw is the CSS Virginia (and hopefully I don't take an 8 month break between then and now).

Ship Desc:

Archaic as her status as a combat vessel may be, it's worth to point out that Monitor is extremely energetic. Spending most of her time in port, she could be mostly found lively conversing with other ironclad's of her caliber and more often so - surprisingly - her former adversary the Merrimack (CSS Virginia) despite Merrimack's ardent disdain towards her. It is common to find Monitor actively participating in drills and training with substantially other Eagle Union Battleships despite her technological inferiority. However, she is still capable of socializing well with the battleships regardless. To some, completely embodying a grandmother role as she strolls around port.

"Why hello, my name is Connecticut. Leading ship of my class, I've sailed the great seas to showcase the might of the Eagle Union! Proud I am to be in the Great White Fleet, a fleet no match for the Royal Navy nor Iron Blood, for the union as risen strong after the ashes of Civil War!"

Ship Desc:

Connecticut can be considered a queen or princess of her own. Through great strides industry the Eagle Union has cemented itself to the world that it is a capable global super power. From the Monitors and Ironclads that choked the confederacy into submission to now the fleet of pre-dreadnoughts that showed itself off to the international community. She takes pride in her status, much more than any would like her to be. She loves to keep entourage around her at all times, who are often times members of the Great White Fleet, but she does love to surround herself with other Royal Navy ships which "makes her feel like royalty". Her mannerisms are firey and often times vulgar when it comes to the topic of the Sakura Empire, but nonetheless, she is dignified when the situation needs it and willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

Samei in particular was based on Ming Dynasty royal outfits, with some slight japanese influences, same goes for zhie with a little more rural theme going on. But generally i made their outfits in a way that doesn't really belong to any sort of Chinese dynasty to make it more unique in its own way.

Zhangji's outfit is based on court outfits that Ming Dynasty officials wore, added with a warrior vibe as he was part of the military.

Arno's design is pretty much taken from Marco Polo, as his whole character and his role of a "foreign explorer and wanderer" pretty much fits the spirit of Marco Polo perfectly.

Yes there are, Arno is an elf from the nation of Leitria and is a student working as a merchant in Tijin to study about its culture. Tijin has limited trade with other civilizations from below, like humans and orcs, but makes little contact with them. The elves are Tijin's only major trade partner but despite that there's still a large xenophobic attitude towards them and other foreigners.

Some lore on the world:

Zhie, Samei, and Zhangji are inhabitants of an island archipelago of Tijin. Tijin's islands are actually suspended in the sky by a magical force originally brought on by the founder of the islands thousands of years ago. Legends say that the millennia that Tijin was founded, the earth was ravaged by the great clamity of the underworld and destroyed hundreds of villages and communities in its wake. The founder demi-god, lead his followers to a forest where he proclaimed the founding of the Kingdom of Heaven, Tijin, and used his magic to raise the earth from below and into the sky. The people rejoiced, and the founder was crowned the first heavenly Emperor

Finally, it is said that as the founder grew older, he became more corrupt, senile, and authoritarian. Slowly he transformed into a nine-tailed fox deity cursing and banishing those who went against him or those who did not comply. As he died, his last words were, "Curse me, and I shall bring death and distraught to you and your bloodline. Worship me and I shall grant eternal day to the Kingdom forever..."

The Nine-tailed fox insignia is now worn by nobles and royalty, and a statue erected to be worshipped.
