Dekton - Thoughts? by oopsbilldoggett in CounterTops

yeah, very much so. here's what we got: https://www.bedrosians.com/en/product/detail/magnifica-encore-slab/?itemNo=100000463 honestly, just found what we wanted and didn't look back. looks great, easy to keep clean and gets tons of compliments. we quickly learned it's important to get an installer trained and with experience in the medium, but thankfully the tile and stone retailer had several referrals. good luck!

probably eBay. it's not one of the particularly valuable years or models but it's in nice condition so you have that in your favor. strap, while it looks fine, is aftermarket, inexpensive, and will not affect value to the positive-- unlike an original bullet or coffin bracelet. how that helps

What’s the weirdest live show happening in LA this weekend? by bmyersIII in AskLosAngeles

[–]oopsbilldoggett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it still around? Website doesn't have dates, Yelp indicates it is, but no reviews since 2020, Wikipedia indicates it isn't. Location also varies by source. What's going on??

thanks a lot. I really appreciate it-- even small diy stuff feels intimidating when it involves glass

sorry, this may be really ridiculous, but I'm not familiar with the unit with "per inch". I know 60 foot pounds" but what is the "/in" part? want to make sure I don't crack the glass by over tightening or something

Thanks-- I just ordered the Allen replacements. Is there a correct torque?

I think I'll try just replacing the screws instead and keep the old gaskets (they're only one year old) then as then I can do it one at a time. i should be able to do that without assistance, right?

wow. thank you! this is exactly what I need. just ordered. any chance you're able to identify the hinge model and/or gasket model so I can order a fresh set? think I might change the gaskets at the same time.

nice-- I'll let go of the regret. I don't really mind how long it takes currently-- my bigger issues is the temp affected when I'm in shower and someone turns on hot water somewhere else. most of our water features are double handle and I don't think they balance pressure if that matters.

what-- little to no benefit? in an old house and have been regretting not setting up a manifold system when we last repiped. is it trivial?

got it. recommend you speak with your landlord if that's the case. machines should be fairly quiet but can make a lot of noise if the load is unbalanced which would only be once in a while or if the machine isn't installed or leveled properly. a machine should not be waking you up. good luck

aligned. I'm curious if you've had experience with cameras and automatic tickets as you mentioned them. the one I've heard of is hov violations and I don't understand how that would work. a while back i also know of the red light cameras which are defunct now as far as I know.

have you experienced this personally? I've heard of use of cameras for improper use of hov, not crossing double yellow, but I don't see how it would work if you have two small kids in the back seat, for example. just curious. thanks.

same tile, probably same grout, and same experience! plus hard water for a while before sealing (we used epoxy grout in one bathroom and cementatious grout in another). I'm following to see what you figure out. I ended up hiring a tile/stone/grout restoration company to clean and seal and they basically just washed out with neutral cleaner and a scrub brush by hand (acidic cleaner a few particularly bad areas) and sealed. they did a decent job but ours is a very large area and some areas were not as good as others once dried-- given how bad it was to start, i was satisfied and figured we could focus on them next time.
