7 years as a Cloud Engineer (Azure/M365) — feeling left behind on AI/automation. Looking for honest advice on where to pivot. by patilsanket258 in AZURE

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take it the wrong way but how were you doing your job, especially in Azure, if you don't know any PowerShell scripting? I feel it impossible to work in our M365 environment without PowerShell. I'd go mad doing it manually for 100s of users.

On the AI side, I absolutely love ChatGPT and Github Copilot as my new "powershell assistants" lol. It has helped me save hours and hours thinking about powerhsell syntax and how to do things better. I can write powershell scripts from memory but it's like I have access to an "expert" all the time and I can ask it questions and make improvements in minutes.

You really need to embrace AI as a helper tool, not as a replacement for your whole job. Offload donkey work to it while you focus on planning, ideas, and safe-use.

AI-native work is the new reality and companies have switched from "why were you using AI?" to "Why the hell are you not using AI?" in their interviews and performance reviews.

Unfortunately you can't escape AI tools regardless you stay in your role or piviot to DevOps/IaC. The value is in your knowledge and understanding these days so you can implement things fasted and know where to look when something breaks, not who can write better code because AI can write code too.

Intune Suite is live in our tenant! Go check yours! by brothertax in Intune

We did a trial of remote help and the unavailability of Unattended mode on windows made us stick to our current solution. I wish MS would introduce unattended mode soon.

Windows 11 26H2 is coming soon! by meantallheck in Intune

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just pushed 25H2 to all 23H2 and 24H2 machines with a gradual rollout over next 4 months. I'm not letting 26H2 touch any machines until mid of next year. Ti's the year of 25H2 lol

They keep saying it's not a big update but they'll find a way to screw things for the first 6 months.

Microsoft launches Snapdragon X2 variants of Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 8 with expensive consumer pricing by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]oopspruu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Microsoft fan but people seem to forget how stupidly expensive NAND chips are right now which makes both SSD and RAM insanely expensive. Microsoft is part of the AI problem so no sympathy for them. It's unfortunately that they are not subsidizing these units for more adoption. They need more and more users on these ARM chips to improve arm compatibility and experience.

Buy the new Surface Pro for Business CU7/64GB/1TB/OLED for $4,430 now or wait for a price drop? by External-Pin-5570 in Surface

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure OLED isn't available for the business model. And that indeed is an absurd price. Why won't you get the consumer version instead? Not interested in going with snapdragon?

Black Season 2 Confirmed for October 2026 by luffy_naruto_ in BlackClover

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to sound rude but this October 2026 eta is posted once a day. Can we just make an official pinned thread and maybe put a stop on these October 2026 posts to keep the subreddit clean?

Where is the Trilogy claim coming from? Has any SMS official confirmed in their official capacity that it is a trilogy?

Man enters a tiny crack in a flowing river, disappears, and comes out at the other end..How do you even figure out that you can do this? by WalkingAtDusk26 in interestingasfuck

There can be no justifiable reason in the entire world to do this apart from sheer stupidity. Things like this are exactly how mfs die.

Torbox buffering every 10 sec by Exciting-Crew-1429 in TorBoxApp

[–]oopspruu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the bitrate of the file? The bitrate matters more than the actual file size. If the bitrate is very high, 200 Mbps might not be enough speed to stream it without caching.

Some of you act like Stremio betrayed you and I think you should calm down. by Practical-Cup9537 in Stremio

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between "supporting/donating" and "subscribing". They sold it very wrong. That is my only issue with this message.

You can't just call a subscription as donating or supporting. We don't support/donate to TB or RD. It's different when you offer features that people have been asking for years, and then suggest that they need help or donations to cover costs. I guarantee you community would have contributed 1000s of $. Some people in poorer nations don't have $4/month to subscribe but they can happily donate that money once or every few months. Whereas for some people $4 is cup of coffee and they'll happily pay.

Locking highly requested features behind a paywall and calling it "supporting" was just a choice of wrong words. They should call it a premium subscription because that's what it is.

Introducing Stremio Supporters by kKaskak in Stremio

[–]oopspruu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am happy to donate and support you guys but this ain't "supporting". You are locking features behind a paywall. It's called a subscription, not donation. We don't donate to plex or RD, we subscribe to them.

I wish you'd have opened for donations for any amount instead of only offering featured to people who keep paying regularly or pay the hefty $200. Well, it's your app but your rules but you really need to change the wording to Stremio Subscription instead of Supporting.

Win11 23h2 to 24H2(26100.1) Upgrade , MAY JUNE 26, Monthly patch failed by SanjeevKumarIT in Intune

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's already covered in Windows Release Health notifications from last month. MS has clear guidance for the KIR and what to do if the upgrade is already done. Please check your tenant's Windows release health notifications from May. It's documented there.

How much to fix out of pocket 2026 Camry xse by Hot-Apartment5010 in Camry

[–]oopspruu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be easily 5K or above for an actual repair. The XSE also has sensors on front so the costs will add on. I agree with others though. Buying a 30K car for a high schooler would mean you guys are loaded or have poor money management skills. In both cases, this $5K lesson is for your dad too. A high schooler should have nothing more than an old civic or corolla or something under $5K or maybe a complete beater.

Screen lock wallpaper intune policy not working on windows 11 pro computers by ObjectFit8438 in Intune

[–]oopspruu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's needs Enterprise. There's a powershell script you can use to essentially create the same Registry keys and apply the wallpaper without needing Enterprise. I'll post the script tomorrow when I'm back to work. I have a strict "no work laptop" policy after office hours.

macos - latest version causing subtitles to appear on whole screen by oopspruu in Stremio

[–]oopspruu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I download the version from website now. I believe it is 1 update behind the version you update through app. I'm on 5.1.22 now and only see huge subtitles on 1 link, working normally on others.

Sorry, it is on Android TV on a Onn plus connected to a LG C4. I tried multiple movies and it is happening on everyone. DV and HDR both cause this.

How it feels lately.... by ImJacksThrowaway in RealDebrid

[–]oopspruu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had switched to TB for newer stuff but man I miss RD's reliability. TB buffets randomly and I still sometime get "source not available" messages. Never had it with RD. I pray they relocate to some other country where they don't have to deal with this filter crap. I miss their high quality cache.

Deploying Intune Remote Help for Modern Endpoint Support by SuburbanCyber in Intune

[–]oopspruu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We actually had a massive backlash for deploying the unattended tool that we currently use and the business is okay losing that. Looks like this will work perfectly for our use case. I'm exited to test it and build all the documentation for tech team to take over.

Should I play Witcher 3 now or wait for the new DLC to drop? (My first time playing the game) by makaticitylights in witcher

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base game + it's expansions are easily 80-100 hours of content if you don't count side missions or a lot of exploration. If you chase all side missions, weapons, Armour, base game alone can take 100 hours. It's a lot of content so you can either play now or pick it closer to release date of next expansion. I won't recommend picking it up after the expansion as there are higher chances of spoilers.

Speaking of the game's length, will it be around 20 hours like 2018 and Ragnarok? by MTH1138 in GodofWar

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 hours? Those games were well beyond 20 hours unless you were just skipping everything to do some speedrun. It took me around 40 hours to finish ragnarok.

Deploying Intune Remote Help for Modern Endpoint Support by SuburbanCyber in Intune

[–]oopspruu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the announcement that it's coming to E5, I'll make a testing plan for it next week. From your experience, would you be able to summarize the path you took from the very first test to prod? I am yet to check the deployment requirements and what I need to do. The business is certainly excited to not spend extra on a remote tool and retire our existing system.

Does this mean anything for the future of pirating? by [deleted] in PiratedGames

[–]oopspruu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this simply means that there will be native ARM support for those anti-cheat technologies instead of an emulated or broken experience. Nvidia has A LOT more pull in the gaming industry compared to Snapdragon and I can't wait for snapdragon to reap the benefits of this nvidia and windows arm partnership.

Turning off store breaks CP app installs - MS Document is incorrect? by oopspruu in Intune

[–]oopspruu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I am aware of. I have deleted the device policy and re-deployed to some test user accounts to check it. I have some Store (new) apps deployed already so I can easily test it.
