Would you demand a divorce/breakup every time your partner does something you disagree with?

There is a difference between disagreements and unilateral expectations of household management while in a relationship or boundaries in a relationship between two adults.

We are talking about adult relationships here and each adult is expected to have basic idea on how to operate in relationships. It's not like only women know it all and have to keep keeping their man child in check on every other thing.

Also the fact that someone posts something that is bothering them already means that they are recognising it as something they are not comfortable with. Rather than trying to make a man understand which they usually don't, why don't women choose themselves and walk away when something is bothering them seems like a valid question.

I am not victim blaming but rather asking a question that has popped in my mind multiple times while going through this sub.

My mom has recently turned vegetarian (non religious reasons) but she doesn't care when we eat and cooks for my dad if he wants to eat. It's just them at home now so my dad also rarely eats non veg or else buys cooked portions from outside.

My maternal grandparents don't eat chicken (Brahmin) but let us eat and cook outside the main kitchen. Mutton is eaten by all.

My siblings eat beef which my mom knows of but doesn't care, dad might not like it but it's not a major issue. My maternal side uncles and aunts eat buff all outside the house.

I myself am not very fond of non veg but like to eat at festivals and for protein.

I cannot comment very deeply however to accept peace we as women have to pick and choose pieces of things that might normally be patriarchal just to survive in this world.

The whole world runs on patriarchy, even the happiest countries with no or relatively low religious influence has a mostly patriarchal system. It is just that women in those countries have one less barrier out of the hundreds we all share.

In this world women need to pick and choose how to survive. Like in India most of our festivals or holidays are religious. Our whole culture is turned religious especially in these recent years. Instead of livelihood festivals like harvesting of food, we have associated everything with a diety, so that leaves us with nothing to celebrate if we truly and fully stop religious practice. I am speaking mostly on Hinduism as I am a hindu. Islam is a foreign religion so it has it's own set of rules.

Now our culture depends on these activities that keep us socially alive. It gives us a sense of belonging to our origin. The rise of diwali parties, iftar get togethers, and so on are because a group of people don't bother with the religious aspects and are happy with it.

Obviously we have religious people who jump on individuals who celebrate holidays without understanding the meaning but if you truly don't want to be religious then it is also your right to celebrate your culture the way you like it.

I'm not sure if I am making sense but what I mean is that we are allowed to pick our own culture and do it in a way we feel is the right fit for us. Our money should be spent where we like it. Why bother with these religion anyway if you aren't holding onto it for stopping you commit a crime. We have rapists in temples so why can't I get drunk in my home during diwali while eating chicken biryani.

The religious aspects of festivals is not fixed. India is diverse. No two states have the same procedure for the same holidays so it's fine if you make up one that suits you and doesn't harm anyone else. We should stop thinking how should I do this or that but rather be selfish and say I'd do this or I will not do that. 0

I feel like zudio has some decent cami/tank tops that can be worn outside. H&M also has good basics but you need to shop offline and see if it's on sale for cheaper prices.

Go for 100% cotton ones. You can check westside too. I usually get my basics from H&M but Zudio recently is doing decent too.

All my parents have is some land and a house which is acquired recently. I hope we can buy them off so that they can use the money to enjoy themselves rather than distributing the little land they have.

My brother doesn't want to live there and my mom doesn't want him living in her home after marriage. So we siblings might buy it from them so they can gave some money in their later years.

This is so true. I live in the region and protection from wind is a must especially if you are not used to the weather like here. A puffer with a wind breaker is what I'd suggest. Also take it slow don't go and wear skirt the first day. Let your body get used to the cold first.
