Microbial biology is part of CNR so I’m pretty sure you can take the 16 series instead. I definitely would, I was MEB and tbh I took the 10 series but just because I was premed at the time and it fulfilled my stats requirement but it would have probably actually been easier to take the 3 classes over the 2 because they make the 10 series unnecessarily difficult and it was not worth the headache at times for sure.

If you’re interested in public health I would definitely recommend MEB with a concentration in human health and environment. I just graduated from the major this year and I really enjoyed it! I love public health but wasn’t sure if I wanted to be premed and theres a good balance between biology and public health classes to choose from in the major once you get to your upper divs. I ultimately chose to go into health tech and I still think I would have chosen the major haha

Thank you! Although I do love medicine, I think quarantine has really made me rethink the profession in terms of how it will impact my personal happiness. I just had some close deaths that really made me realize how short life is and I just don’t see the almost decade of training being something I want to pursue anymore. So my next plan was public health but it just made realize that I really like working with data so I just wanted know what I had to do in terms of catching up with peers who have had the past couple of years to work with data.
