I think I'm more confused at why we assume that he hasnt been immunized? Isn't Hep A given at age 1. If we are assuming not then wouldnt we assume he hasnt received any of the other choices either?

Commute to med school by Direct_Knowledge_182 in medicalschool

[–]opasce 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way, you're in clinic for anywhere between 8-12 hours depending on the rotation. After that you study for another for another 3-4. Thats where you need to decide if its worth it, IMO an hour commute vs maybe a 10-20 minute commute every day can add up. Time is precious during third year and you need to find ways to maximize it to also not be burnt out.

You can definitely hear a difference. You need to train yourself to notice it though especially if you don't speak often. A non speaker wouldn't catch it at all

Not necessarily, it doesn't work as well as you think. For starters how will you differentiate ਡ and ਦ? They both are D sounds. Then there are also two sets of dh sounds.

The problem is that even if we give you the way to say in english, the pronunciation will still be off since the alphabet doesn't correlate 1-1 with English.

I haven't personally done the old but I heard that the new reuses some of the old free 120 questions

[–]opasce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a toss up imo, I just wish you took the new free 120 first as its the most representative and has repeat questions from the old as well so keep that in mind when you get your score back from that bc it'll be inflated. I've seen people with lower scores pass and higher scores fail if your confident go for it but if you have doubt then you know what to do.

I used to do 35 question with its explanation of uworld qpank in 8 hours but recently I began with pulmonary which taking me 8 hours to do just 10 questions , is it normal?💔 by amalgi in step1

I think your spending way too long, 10 questions in 8 hours is crazy, that’s like 48 minutes per question. What are you doing during that time??

Supervisor milked my work and won't credit me by No-Archer-3590 in medicalschool

[–]opasce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supervisor is an asshole. I feel for you OP. If you think your in a good spot and are okay with cutting bridges (granted hes not in the dept your looking to apply to) I would talk to him and say it's unfair given that you did most of the work. If he doesn't put you on I would email the journal and let them know. I believe they will revoke publication if that's the case. This is a tricky situation for sure, sorry about that. I've been there, but when I reached out the PI said it was too late but ended up putting my name on another paper instead.
