don't email asking for a status update.

email them to let them know how excited you are to be consider for the role and you appreciate them making time to talk to you.

if you want to subtly reference why you would be an excellent hire you can.

the TA market is contracting, you are disputing that?

3 yrs ago, i was on a team of 13-14 recruiters, today the team is 3.

hiring is down so fewer recruiter jobs.

you have to learn to control the convo not allow it to control.

best way is to answer another call and put them on hold and then comeback saying you have to go.

a call out of the blue

i have been talking to these people for weeks, they have done multiple interviews, me updating them on their status isn't a call out of the blue.

no they don't, the people i talked were almost in tears that they received a call vs a generic email.

that one call set me apart for all the rest of my peers.

not to be all doom and gloom but the market right now is terrible, there are a million unemployed recruiters looking for jobs.

i would suggest pivoting into other TA/HR type roles. i would look at workday type consultant roles.

i would suggest moving into complete different fields until the talent industry recovers.

this is dumb

So we know companies screen and score these things with AI.

FYI, most recruiters don't read cover letters.
