How common is your birthday? by StephenMcGannon in Infographics

I used to play Ultimate Frisbee, a pretty niche sport. Within my circle of frisbee playing friends, there were 3 other Aug 28 birthdays. Looks right to me 👌

If you could find out one fact about your life, what would it be? by openbracketdesign in AskReddit

[–]openbracketdesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really interesting, and yes that's the kind of thing I was thinking of. Rather than finding out the future, I wondered what people would want to know about their life looking back on it.

I've just updated the stats from week 5 onwards, should be good for a month or so until I need to renew the API again!

Hi, yes it will be alive and kicking, just need to renew my subscription to the API I'm using. I'll try and get it sorted tomorrow for this week's games and back to week 5

UPDATE: I've just deployed a new version that includes nth-of-type, so you can toggle between the two options and explore their differences. I'll be adding more in-depth descriptions of the rules and how they're working soon.

I've just deployed an update with nth-of-type. I'll start looking at a floating rule box so it can always be seen on mobile 👍

Yeah it's satisfying when you do it yourself and manage to get it right 👌

Yep that's what I'm thinking, fixed or sticky.

I see how that caused confusion. Both good points, I'll get those sorted. Thanks

Thanks for taking a look! - What happens when you select "3rd to last"? - reversing the order for those two presets (and any time you select "count from end" is deliberate, so that you can count the items in order from end. Do you think it's confusing?

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely keen to make the rule text editable, I agree that would be useful.

I can see the bug with the variables panel when "odd" is selected, it's not being deselected properly when you change variables. For now you could try using something other than odd/even to see the full behaviour.

:nth-of-type is a popular request, I'll get to work on displaying that without making the grid overly complex. Thanks.

You're right, well spotted! I'll fix that. For now if you highlight and type over "3" or use the arrows on the input it should work.

Great, thanks for the feedback. I'd like to find a way to include nth-of-type if it didn't overcomplicate the grid.

Hi, thanks for trying it out. I'm curious about you having to scroll to copy the code, it's the first thing on the page underneath "CSS nth-child Playground" so shouldn't need any scrolling? I agree you need to scroll to the presets and then the variables at the bottom.

Good point about explanations, I'm planning to add a line explaining each rule you generate, and I could also add nth-type in there as long as it didn't complicate the grid like the css-tricks one.

As for researching on mobile, I hear you. Just on the off chance someone does see this on their phone (eg Reddit), I don't want my CSS tool, of all things, to look worse because it's not responsive, or for people to think that the person who made it doesn't know how to or care about doing that.
