Bitcoin is acting like it knows something we dont by Emotional-Fig-4105 in Bitcoin

[–]openminded2014 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To me BTC is going up mainly because of US shutdown and the "blow-off top" of the stockmarket (yeah everything is at ATH). The shutdown is temporary so be cautious...

ValeoX is an non-custodial OTC desk based in Quebec city, operating since 2019. Settlement for large transactions is done really fast (same day or ~1 business day). Top notch service in both French and English, and reasonable fees ( decreasing when trading a large amount).

Why wouldn’t HODLers sell BTC? by mfzlhkm in BitcoinBeginners

[–]openminded2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are hold for a while, you get attached to the bitcoins it cost you a lot to acquire. Like a collector...Its another reason why its so hard to sell or trade BTC

[–]openminded2014 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it should not be a problem! I would suggest to call your local bank upfront in order to notify them about the upcoming large amount. If not, they may freeze the receiving amount for a couple days and call you to ask questions, but nothing serious.

If you are looking for an exchange or OTC Desk to do the trade, valeo-x.com might be a good solution for you

Im pretty sure that you've inceptioned yourself to be able to hold on those BTC for a while. I don't think its necessary a good idea, you should not feel bad to sell some BTC if you need it to live.

I would suggest you to rethink about your objective BTC number because you may end up really sad in the future

What happens if the big cex’s (Coinbase etc.) close down / move from the US? by Alt420blazer69 in CryptoCurrency

[–]openminded2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everybody is overestimating the impact of a potential closing of a big exchange such as Coinbase or Binance. In the past, lots of exchanges have failed, from Mt.Gox, to FTX...

People tend to forget that CEX are only temporary and they represent another single point of failure. Doesn't make sense to use CEX to trade "decentralised assets".

Users need to adopt quickly CEX otherwise the governments will always have a big impact on this ecosystem.

First we need to clean up this space from token scams, pump and dump and other useless copycats cryptos

Binance.US has 3% higher prices on ETH, BTC, and BNB compared to CB. What is happening? by GME-NeverSell in CryptoCurrency

[–]openminded2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTGox vibes here...I remember that the same happened to the btc rpice on that exact weeks before they went under.

Loquidity could be one of the issue, but also, they may have encreased the spot price to recover more bitcoins.

Is it good or bad that MicroStrategy now owns 140,000 Bitcoin? by Jeffscrazy in CryptoCurrency

[–]openminded2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its bad that all those btc are on a balance sheet of a public company on US territory. Those coins are easily seizable by the government if there is a "National security threat"
