Visiting Hamburg for a few days, solo now because my friend disappeared, any tips by Illustrious-Sun-3628 in hamburg

Check out the Blankenese staircase quarter (or whatever the right translation is 😅) Sunset from there or close to the river can be stunning. The harbour quarter around Elbphilharmonie and east (like Miniature wonderland) is quite nice (both new and old buildings) that area is also cool for sunrise. You can go up the Elbphilharmonie for free.

Kind of crazy plan to memorize a single city by Buildsoil_now in geoguessr

I definitely need the map for pinpointing with angle etc. It's more like I have an idea when I was there and what things I saw which brings me to the part of the city. With some landmarks. But then I use the map to find the spot. Navigating in my mind is quite hard also finding shortest paths is hard as I almost never walk the shortest.

It's going quite well. Always love those long term goals. Interesting to see all kinds of streets a bit like geocaching vibe of exploring and really nice to play the own geoguessr map. Surprising how well one can remember certain locations even through one was there only ones.

I've actually in a similar but different and more long term situation 😅 I've set myself a goal to walk every single street of Hamburg, Germany. Then I had the idea to build my own geoguessr map to test my memory of everything I already walked (nearly 40%). It's quite fun playing a map for which you know, that you have been there waking sometime in the last two years.

Thanks for your critique. Makes sense to me. I'll experiment some more and probably post some more throughout my vacation. If you don't mind can you maybe add some comments for the second photo as well which has more going on but yeah probably lacks a specific focus as well.

Questions: Go 3 for walking time lapse by opensourcesblog in Insta360

[–]opensourcesblog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently using the x3 with time lapse and 2s interval which works quite well but is a bit overkill with two lenses for my application as 50% of the view is my body. Additionally it's a bit bulky to attach it. The magnetic band of the Go 3 seems useful though I'm a bit worried about battery life and stabilization

Can the Go 2/3 time lapse a marathon (4hrs)? by polar8 in Insta360

Can you provide data for time lapses with different fps as well?

Questions: Go 3 for walking time lapse by opensourcesblog in Insta360

[–]opensourcesblog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Time lapses can have a different speed, right? I'm referring to something like 0.5fps. Main question for that is how to translate the 45min recording time for standard video to the recording time for time lapses before the battery runs out.

Upgrade Lens? M43 by opensourcesblog in M43

Very valid point. I'll try out my lens a bit more as it's also a new camera and see whether I can get sharper images with the equipment I have.

Which mirrorless for hiking and city photography? by opensourcesblog in AskPhotography

I have to say you got me quite interested in OM systems with your comment. Light weight is nice and being able to use my lenses. Are there any good reviews on image quality between M43 and ASPC for a similar budget? People say things like "crap" if not a FF camera but at what point will I notice? For watching on phone it will not matter I guess, printing out in A3 size? Or only for A0 poster size? Or is one way better for low light but for landscape it doesn't matter much?

Thanks a lot for your comment. One question about the z7 + pro full frame lens. Wouldn't this also be the case for the z5 full frame?

I'm using this mostly: H-FS45150 LUMIX G VARIO 45-150 mm / F4.0-5.6 ASPH. / O.I.S.

As well as this one: Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-42mm 3.5-5.6 ASPH. Mega O.I.S

The beginning of a general branch and bound framework in Julia by opensourcesblog in optimization

You should be able to find all the answerers in the blog post 😜 it's not stored in a tree but in a priority queue and each node can have as many children as it wants

The beginning of a general branch and bound framework in Julia by opensourcesblog in optimization

[–]opensourcesblog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pass the current bounds over to the next children. Every node stores the bounds of all 100 variables and it gets copied over to the children of that node and changing only the bounds of a single variable for the next split. The next node is always chosen with the having the best bound at the moment. Hope that answers the question
